He's a talented player, but I don't like his video reviews. It's cool to see and hear the vintage guitars but I really don't like his "whackyness"

I think he is using the head and cabinet version on stage. Sounds good.

The Premier Guitar mag shows him pictured with (6) 1x12 cabs, (6) 2x12 cabs, (4) heads and (20) reverb pedals...no lie...page 83 of June 2011 edition.

Phil X rocks! 8)

Love his vids. An awesome player who doesn't take him self to seriously. He always looks as if he's having have a bloody good time playing the crap out of those vintage guitars.

Judging by some of the reviews I've read he's doing a fine job standing in for Sambora.

I heard about this a while ago, I think he is brilliant, and I'm glad he's been given an opportunity like this.

I used to have this problem when I started out playing, that I would take everything too seriously, if my playing wasn't 100% perfect as per what was on the record I was learning or whatever, it wasn't worth doing. Watching Phil's Fretted Americana videos helped me out a lot, as I realised basically that guitar should be fun!

If you ever get a chance to see some of his Fretted videos, there are some beautiful guitars on show

Drew :)

It was 56 Magnatone who linked me to those, when I inquired as to whether or not he owned a 56 Magnatone amp. They are reincarnations of same.. First and last time I ever heard a Magnatone Amp must have been over 50 years ago. Had a vibrato circuit to die for. Phil X's store is in my father-in-law's town and I have to make it my business to check them out next visit.
