Hey everyone... My wife just helped me made a video of myself playing my '95 Fender MIM Strat out of my 2011 Fender Frontman 65R solid state amp.

No effects, no processors, just me sitting in a chair in my livingroom by the fireplace hearth, showing the tone of the Fender Frontman 65. In the end of the video, I also explain my "diamond in the rough" MIM Strat but yet has the Fender Delta-Tone circuitry or whatever from the USA made Strats.

Hopefully I don't look like an idiot! There was no rehearsal, no planning, I just wanted to do this. So... there's lots of "um's" and me nervously trying to keep my thought process straight! :P

This is the first time both my wife and I used the digital camera in video mode, so the sound might peak a little, and the quality might fade a little, due the battery getting weak.

Great job on the video...good tone too. I have a Frontman 25R and it's very similar in tone. Great clean tone...decent overdrive channel. Fender makes good stuff. Again great video..thanks for sharing...

Nice tones. Nice guitar. Your presentations was a litttle rough, but who isn't with their firt time doing anything. Overall very good. As with all things, practice makes perfect. Keep popping out vids if you want, it will become more smooth as you go. I would rather go upon that video if I was going to purchace an amp than some more produced ones that are out there. I love personal testimonies.

Thanks for posting ButchA. A good first video, amp description gives the feeling "I'd like to try one of those", guitar tone is good too maybe the next one you will play some more (no pressure  ), the cat's walk-on part was just the ticket. Keep up the good work!

LOL...

Thanks. Thanks everyone... I just sort of winged it and did the video on the fly. What you see is what you get.

I thought about rocking out and doing some Clapton/Cream type of "Crossroads" wicked blues/rock licks, but thought that people might want to hear the Frontman 65 and my sort of unique, one of a kind, MIM Strat as is.

----------Danny,

Thanks! 8)

My wife and I have a Kodak Z615 digital camera (like the Canon PowerShot), and I mounted it on a tripod. I asked my wife to hit the shutter button to record, and away I went, just talking this and that and about the Frontman 65 and my Strat. The digital camera shoots pretty good video, but you are limited to (I think) 30 minutes on an average SD Card.

My own style/sound is sort of a massive combination of everything, but is still sort of "old school":
Hendrix
Clapton
Mark Knofler
Randy Bachman (BTO)
CCR (even though John Fogerty played a Rickenbacker and Tom Fogerty played an ES-335)
Maybe some old Carl Perkins rockabilly tunes and maybe even a little surf thrown in too (i.e. The Ventures "Walk Don't Run", etc...)

To me, the Strat should be able to do it all, and do it all extremely well. 8)

I liked the clean tone especially...the overdrive was pretty good, too. Do you have any overdrivepedals? I would like to hear the difference between the amp's OD and an overdriven (by pedal) amp...

The cat wandering through the room made it sound better too...when I start playing my dog generally goes into the other room and sits on his bed until I'm done.

Nice axe...

Thanks...

I don't own any pedals, except for an old Digitech RP7 Valve (12AX7) guitar processor which still works fine after all these years. I'm still tweaking it and fiddling with it to work with the Frontman 65.

Edit: Correction... I have an old Dunlop Cry Baby wah pedal, but it's in a box in the closet. I have no OD, Distortion, Chorus, EQ, Flanger, yada yada yada... pedals.

Right now I'm having a love/hate relationship with the RP7. I love it for multi-track recording, but don't care for all the fiddling around with trying to make it sound natural and not so compressed/manufactured/pre-processed/etc...etc... when playing live out of the Frontman 65. Also, the RP7 either on or totally unplugged/unused - there is no true bypass, because the RP7's own volume and presence knobs take over full control no matter what. :?

I am wanting to look at the Electro Harmonix "English Muff'n" overdrive pedal (the one with the two 12AX7's built into it, standing upright against a protective shield). I also want to look at the Fulltone OCD, because I've heard so many good things about it.

My daughter's cat Pepper made a cameo appearance in the video and is not afraid of anything. My female beagle/shepherd mix named Amber was out in the backyard, so she didn't have to hear me either, because she will leave the room too!
