The accelerated passion, emotion and sensitivity that leads us all to being musicians will always create the rhetorical feelings to the fantastic sensitivity we fell out of creating music. These rhetorical feelings are hypersensitivity to anything we feel passionate about, which in our case is just about everything... It's the nature of who we are.... I make a conscious effort to steel my self to the untoward side of my hypersensitivity and basically harden the $@!& up and not take everything personally and carry on like a princess.... Doesn't always work..... But it works for me most of the time.... Thought I'd share my honest theory... The way I think about it is it's all gettin a bit boo hoo around here if you don't like something don't partake in it... Simple really... Forums are for debate on subjects and being human opinions will differ...
I enjoy this place thank you for any opinion anyone has shared with me. I will always come back and hang out and converse but I ain't tiptoein around anyones sensitivity on the net or face to face. Like or loath I don't really care sorry... I will never set out to upset anyone... But really maybe a month or two in modern bride forum discussing tiara's will help some and then thay'll realize a bit of banter and debate ain't so hard and it's time to enjoy other musians talking about gear again and give up selling tickets to the end of the world huh!!!!!

Just a thought....
Rock out!!!!

Peace!!!

I'm loving the suggestions for sock fillers. Padlocks and Toblerone.. Genius! There will some very entertaining pics at some point!

A word of warning for all of those planning to meet the Big C. I didn't realise Ceri was a Jedi name and I'm pretty sure he mind tricked me into letting him pay for a very nice lunch.

I have to get him back for that at some point.

Ah, Andy, forgeddit. I tried. Lots of times. It's in his genes, apparently. Next time, you hold him down while I settle the bill. :D

And to all who suggested meeting up: Yeah, cool! I'm game! Juts leave your bricks and padlocks at home... bring the Toblerone (if you must)...

Excuse me, guys, but come OFF it. Do I have to run through my grovelling gratitude list again? I'm someone who gets a helluvalot more than he gives.

However. I'm right up for a Forum gig outing. A bunch of Forumites from the four corners right in the middle of the stalls one night - we'd show an audience how to get to its feet and enjoy a show in the proper style!

Who shall we all go and see?

Cheers - C

What IS that thing yer forcing into the sock? a brick or a lump of "highland" meat to chew on for tea!

Its Half a house brick but due to my appalling cooking skills, there's very little difference between that and my attempt to cook lumps of meat.

I reckon we should try and catch Jeff Beck next time he's in town. That guy puts on an awesome show (I'll smuggle in a bottle of Tuaca!).

Have a good one folks!

I'm up for it! (Warning, now comes a lie:) I don't care much about Jeff, though; far more interested in his female accompaniment(s), be it bass or vocals...

OBVIOUSLY I will go to see JEFF! Or any other hero - Pete, Eric, who knows, maybe Joe when he's on a visit?

Count me in. Stall at RAH would be nice! *smacking lips*

I'll still hang here for awhile, there's still some good folks here...heck,I might be one of the bad guys... :?
It's life, that's what it is....does anybody ever get along anymore, for any length of time?
A real smart elder musician who is a real deal road warrior from the big leagues of music and a best friend, told me one time in one of our long talks..."the only thing constant in life,is change."

No worries Reb...You have been nothing but civil as far as I have seen; you even asked nicely enough that I made that snake disappear, I fed it to my dog 'Homer' who now takes the place.

Hahaa....yep,I feel better with the dog,Homer...he looks very protective!

Very protective indeed. He's one of those dogs that love's 99% of the population; the other 1% should steer clear of him. He's my hog hunting dog, and he does an impeccable job at subduing some nice fat pigs, a human would present him no trouble. I also have my mom's 2 boxers 6 months of the year when her and my stepdad are out travelling.

So yeah, what was the best forum I had visited in many years has definitely gone to hell. Nothing but grown men acting like children, and whining about every little thing somebody else has to say. I think some people spend too much time sitting at their computer and the lack of real mental stimulation is taking a toll. (If that statement bothers you, then you're probably who I'm talking about). I may not be a 'senior member' around here, but I'll say this with no qualms: All the crap is seriously killing this forum and it's being perpetrated by the ones that claim to be the most concerned with the image of the Fender Lounge Forums. I've been using this board for a while now, and have had no problems with anybody; because it's very easy to be civil and it takes conscious effort to be spiteful. So to all the keyboard warriors, have your opinion, but we would all appreciate if that opinion was presented in a mature manner. /rant

I hope that I haven't contributed to that Tim. As some one much younger than I, you are a very good communicator, with words and music, of all of your posts that I have read and listened to. You know now that I have not read them all. As most people, I do get distracted and sometimes those distractions bleed into other activities and we all have built in safeguards to push us beyond those obstructions. Some people pay attention to them and some people just don't play well with others. I again hope that you can forgive and, forget anything written with absence of forethought.

Huh,
I've been lurking on the forum for awhile, but I only registered about a week ago (after getting an American Standard... had squiers for ages, and a Telecoustic), but from what I've seen, these forums have a much nicer feel than so many others in the interwebs. Just reading the few posts from Ceri, Tim, Pappawookee, etc. have made the visits well worth it. But then maybe I have got used to ignoring stupid posts.

Mostly, I find the people here helpful and informative, willing to share great information. I don't usually have anything useful to add, so I just read :) . I'll add something now though... thanks to all you mature and informed posters, you help me enjoy playing my guitars, and make me feel I'm part of a special group of passionate people.

Jono
