I apologize for anything I did to contribute to that...I used to ignore things that annoy me, but lately I've been ticked off and I'm too tired and post before I think. I'll start ignoring things like that again.

SA, you are going to have to post a link to where you've done something wrong, please. That would give me such a surprise I'd be fascinated to see it! :D

So yeah, what was the best forum I had visited in many years has definitely gone to hell.

Nah, it's no sweat. These things go in waves and it comes good again quickly enough with a little postive input from sensible people.

Ignore the noisy threads, contribute to the nice ones. It all works itself out.

A friendly cheers to y'all - C

I usually review my posts several times before I hit the Submit button to check for civility, grammar and spelling; but also to give myself time to calm down if I'm feeling riled. Though honestly, I don't think I've ever been too riled up on these boards. My father always used to tell me - never write something down if you don't want the world to see it and hold you to it - truer words never spoken, especially in this age of computers and the Internet.

I do think some people post on this board just to get people miffed and start a commotion. I rarely respond to such threads, though I admit that I am sometimes a bit amused by the carryings-on of some responders.

I finally got this posted after fighting my way past the following message:

When people agree with me I always feel that I must be wrong.

OSCAR WILDE, The Critic as Artist

I don't know why but I felt like that Oscar Wilde quote fitted in this post but now that I read it again, I am not sure :? It wouldn't be the first time I confus my self here.

But yeah I learned my lesson early in my lounge days after posting in a bad mood, and a senior poster put me in my place ... won't name him ... Ceri ... :? Now how did that get there

I read you loud and clear Tim.These days there seems to be a proliferation of people who put up things purely to provoke and for no other reason for their own childish, churlish amusement.I've seen so many times people being called stupid or idiots because they may have an opinion that differs from their own.I've been the subject of such verbal assaults for saying something something that even the most obtuse could see was written facetiously or tongue-in-cheek.People like that are only proving their own stupidity and lack of comprehension by not catching on to what even the most dim could clearly see was made in a light-hearted manner.

People should read over what they have written before hitting the SUBMIT button to make sure that it doesn't inflame or offend.Unfortunately there are those on the forum who purposely intend to insult and upset others who enjoy friendly banter and have sensible and informed differences of opinion.Trolls like this should be brought to task and reported and if enough reports go in about a flaming troll they will no doubt be banished from the forum.
In closing I will quote the words of Dandemus:"Don't condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own.You may both be wrong."

I also think the moderater needs to step in and control the forums more often.

+1 that's the only way to take control back IMO. Human beings are human beings, they will never change... we will argue, scream, yell, fight, kill, go to war to prove a point! Not many of us are willing to take the time and learn how to communicate in a civilized way, that's why you need moderators here. JMHO, YMMV...

Nothing against you Brad, I think you do a wonderful job keeping this site up for us to enjoy and I'm sure you have your hands full with the other duties and responsibilities... but you definitely need some help my friend!

"Senior poster" - that made me fall about laughing! :D

Friendly respects to you, Nonni. Didn't I read you would be coming to my town sometime soon? Is it still on? Can I buy you a beer? I can think of one or two others here who'd join us too, if you are up for it.

Cheers to you - C

I really have nothing to say, (other than I'd love to join you for a beer Ceri, if I was in your neighbourhood.)

Just wanted to say hi.

Friendly cheers to you, Gridlok - C
