So yeah, what was the best forum I had visited in many years has definitely gone to hell. Nothing but grown men acting like children, and whining about every little thing somebody else has to say. I think some people spend too much time sitting at their computer and the lack of real mental stimulation is taking a toll. (If that statement bothers you, then you're probably who I'm talking about). I may not be a 'senior member' around here, but I'll say this with no qualms: All the crap is seriously killing this forum and it's being perpetrated by the ones that claim to be the most concerned with the image of the Fender Lounge Forums. I've been using this board for a while now, and have had no problems with anybody; because it's very easy to be civil and it takes conscious effort to be spiteful. So to all the keyboard warriors, have your opinion, but we would all appreciate if that opinion was presented in a mature manner. /rant

Wow, i've taken a leave of absence from the forum and now that i've taken the time to come back and look at the posts it seems like a lot has changed. Dosn't feel like the same forum anymore...

You guys have always been cool to me. When I see posts like that, I just try to ignore.

I am trying to be civil on here and most of the time I am. I do find myself not visiting as long when I do log in. It still is better than some of the other forums out there.

Agree Andy! I also think the moderater needs to step in and control the forums more often. I remember when the forum first opened it was open on weekdays only and during business hours. After it went 24/7 and the word got around about what a great place this was I knew it was only a matter of time before it would start downhill. One thing, back in the day was that the old time members would(politely) step in and try to correct bad behavior, with great sucess.

Enough of my unwanted rant! We can make it a better place again!

To everybody who laments the negativity on the board lately, I apologize for anything I did to contribute to that...I used to ignore things that annoy me, but lately I've been ticked off and I'm too tired and post before I think. I'll start ignoring things like that again.

I will still be a smart aleck, though...

I read you loud and clear Tim.These days there seems to be a proliferation of people who put up things purely to provoke and for no other reason for their own childish,churlish amusement.I've seen so many times people being called stupid or idiots because they may have an opinion that differs from their own.I've been the subject of such verbal assaults for saying something something that even the most obtuse could see was written facetiously or tongue-in-cheek.People like that are only proving their own stupidity and lack of comprehension by not catching on to what even the most dim could clearly see was made in a light-hearted manner.

People should read over what they have written before hitting the SUBMIT button to make sure that it doesn't inflame or offend.Unfortunately there are those on the forum who purposely intend to insult and upset others who enjoy friendly banter and have sensible and informed differences of opinion.Trolls like this should be brought to task and reported and if enough reports go in about a flaming troll they will no doubt be banished from the forum.
In closing I will quote the words of Dandemus:"Don't condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own.You may both be wrong."

From the responce to this post it would look like we are all in agreement about the smart remarks and vulgarity being used on this forum. I as well hope i'm not one of the bad guys. I dont think anyone realy intends to be. In my openion at least one senior member, continues to instigate belittlement of others, usually, the less skilfull members.
Another point that I would like to make is that we have a growing number of young members, probably not "DRY BEHIND THE EARS" yet. This little coment is for you guys. Lighton up just a little bit and clean up your language. Dont be so quick to critisize, and if you feal that you know someone well enough to give them he$#*$ for something, do it in a P.M. not all over the forum. Now for us old guys, we are in many ways like "OLD DOGS". in our younger days we were more tolirent of others and what came our way was delt with like so much water off a ducks back. Now we are more likely to turn around and Bite someone. I know I fit right into that catigory, and have taken the bate a couple of times. Now for the MODERATORS, I would like to see them more acessable and come to the serface moor often. No ofence but a group needs a LEADER. And finaly, maby it would help if a repeat ofender were restricted from posting for a week or two once in a whial.

i read several other forums that are all politics, all the time. it's something that interests me. this forum is rated G compared to those. sure there have been differences of opinion and maybe some name calling. it was very mild compared to other forums i go to.
last but not least. we call ourselves a family, right? i don't know about you, but my family is far from perfect. i still love them anyway.
i know, i know. my grammar sucks.
