This is easy...

Eric Clapton
Jeff Beck
Buddy Guy

No need to go any further than that.

I'd say currently, I'm most inspired by Matt Schofield and the huge tone he pulls from his Strats. Overall, my opinion is that either SRV, Clapton, or Hendrix are the most legendary to have ever plucked a Fender.
I'd add Brad Paisley to the list too, but he RARELY plays a Fender. It's all Crook's Customs for that guy.
And my 86 year-old great aunt can still make her '68 Jaguar sing.
Btw...Corgan, and Cobain suck, and I'll add frusciante to that list too. But if you like 'em, I'm not knocking you for it, just my personal opinions of course.

No offense to anyone, I know this is all subjective.
But in no way does cobain make any greatest list IMO.
Speaking strictly of his guitar playing...whats there to say really?
He wasn't very good. From interviews and stuff I've read about him, I think he wanted to be the "anti-guitar hero" really.
You're entitled to your opinion of course, I just don't get the whole Nirvana trip.

Hendrix
Vaughan
Clapton
J.Beck
Gallagher
Burton
B.Guy
Gilmour
A.Collins
Bramhall II

Pretty much stole the names right out of my... fingers :?: :?
I'd place Gilmour slightly higher but I don't know if you put them in any particular order. I would also add Knopfler, I absolutely love sultans of swing and am currently learning it!!!

Exactly. It's trendy to pretend to claim that Kurt Cobain/Nirvana and/or Smashing Pumpkins/Billy Corgan are not musical legends, even though they are clearly musical legends.

Cobain was a talented at writting lyics/poetry, for sure even though he claims he didn't care about what his lyrics were about. i still reckon he put some thought into some of them. as for a guitraist, well, i dont think he was really trying to be that good. kinda like johnny ramone he was a real influence and a music legend, but anyone can learn his songs in 2 minutes.
