Don't blame Winnipeg. Your teams ownership group made it impossible to find a local buyer.
They wouldn't budge on any of the arena generated revenue like vendors and such. having a deal like that while still being bound to the arena made it unpalatable at best to any potential investors. Even the Edmonton Oilers in one of the most devoted hockey markets are building a new arena in order to get out of a similar contract.

Your ownership seems to have only wanted to be in the Basketball and other high revenue arena events like concerts, and totally out of the hockey business.

This sucks for the hockey fans, but there just weren't enough of you to make it work.

Apparently Quebec City is next on the radar as far as a plug-and-go NHL market is concerned. Perhaps they'll have a chance at landing the Coyotes

Hmm.. in my hockey friend world, no one believed my prediction (months and months ago,) that Atlanta would move before Phoenix, so I'll go on record now saying my guess is Columbus will be the next team to move.
