Dear Fender, please open a Miami, FL office that includes part of the legal department and hire me as an assistant general counsel (UF law review, 1999 grad). Please also include a customer relations/publicity department in the Miami office that works to promote *rock* music in Miami. Not Latin-tinged rock--nothing against, but we have plenty of it here already. We need more music diversity here that includes a grunge/rock/alternative scene. Together, we can make Miami a second coming of Seattle/Aberdeen 1988-1993, thereby improving music in the world (or at least my world here in Miami). It's time for the return of early 90s music. Thank you for considering my thoughts.

:P

Because that's how cultural movements work

My exception is your use of the word, SEATTLE. Music here started long before Grung   Seattle has been a big music town for over a hundred years. 50 years ago I worked with a bunch, that were in there 60 at that time. They had been blaying blues in this town 40 years or so. seattle is not a little Fishing town up next canada. :)

Also most of the "grunge" bands A) played completely different music, the only thing in common being distortion, and even then bands like Pearl Jam lacked the intense amounts of distortion others had
B) Were NOT from Seattle. Hell, Nirvana was from Aberdeen, about 100 miles away.

I know all of that. I love Seattle. I did not say anything about anything being the same. It's like you've posted a canned reply to a comment that many (but not me) have made.

I even mentioned Aberdeen too. But talking about the Seattle scene of the early 90s is a valid way to communicate information in May 2011. It's like an adjective.

Also, of course Pearl Jam did not play grunge; they were an irrelevant, bubble gum pop band aimed at 14 year old girls who love the singer's terrible singing.

Nirvana/Smashing Pumpkins--now there is some music.

Nirvana is greatness, but my favorite 90s band has got to be The Jesus Lizard.... Although without Nirvana I wouldn't KNOW about TJL....

They are one of the few bands where EVERY member was a master at what they did.

Most mainstream success they had was a split with Nirvana.

Note: Yow is NOT to be seen as a traditional singer. If you go in expecting the normal idea of singing, you'll be quite disappointed.... Think of his voice as another instrument....
