i love to use the standard dunlop tortex 0.73mm picks... they are the heaviest gauge i can play that will not ruin the sound of a pick scrape plus tortex just feels right... i don't mind another type of material but this is my pick

Image

but now that i'm stuck with my cheapo music store behind my apartment instead of the store back home i'm stuck with these stagg celuloid picks which work but they ain't tortex picks... they do feel good though

what about you guys? what do you use?

Normally Fender Mediums or the Yellow Tortex picks. I've also tried V-Picks, Jazz III's, and Tortex "The Wedge". I keep coming back to the regular yellow Tortex picks, although I really like the Jazz III's for fast picking runs. I always play the blunt sides of the Tortex, and the pointed end of the Jazz III, so if you had a pick which was half and half, it would be perfect!

Oh, and for acoustic guitar my favorites are Herco Nylon Gold Mediums. They sound great.

Dunlop nylon .73mm is what I've been using since they first came out, they never wear out,if it wasn't for always losing picks I'd probably still have the first one I bought.

+1 on the Dunlop nylon .73mm. Just a perfect tip for lighter gage strings (I likes .09's).

If Dunlop ever goes down I'll be stocking up on these :D

This is my favorite, a little larger version of the Dunlop .73. Unfortunately, I lost it last week. So I went pick buying, they didn't have the Dunlop but I bought three different V Picks. I don't really like any of the V's, too stiff for me.

A few years ago I changed from Fender mediums to lights when I discovered I could play faster with the lighter pick. Tried all kinds of shapes, sizes and thicknesses over the years and I always come back to the classic Fender 351's.

I have a set of finger and thumb picks from Dunlop but they're metal and brighten my tone too much.
