Unfortunately the impetus behind the song was the passing of a dear friend in Austria. I was moved to write a tribute song for her.

The song was recorded with my Custom shop strat and also a hybrid Jazzmaster with nocaster pickups by a brilliant player Cosmitron.
Also a Martin acoustic with a piezo pickup. Recorded on my iMac into Logic Pro through an Apogee Duet digital to analogue convertor. Vocals on a Heil PR-30

Thanks guys. Yes she was an amazing person who really did a bucket list when she found out her diagnosis. The song morphed however into more than a tribute. It became part of an epiphany for my wife and myself about the need to make each day count, not count the days.

I liked it alot....one of my best friends passed away last Friday/Saturday night in his sleep,he was a musician I played with in the past and my son was in a band with him up until the end.
his funeral was yesterday....his life was a lesson in triumph over pain and adversity.
Thank you for sharing your feelings through music. :)

Thank you for your kind words and your story about your friend. I think the message of appreciation of those who have passed is universal and at the same time very personal to each of us.

Here are the words. I have always told myself that I can't write lyrics. I made myself this time.
She was Austrian so I attempted a line in German which translates into: We know, we will see.....

Christine

Christine ooh oh ooh

I am writing this song
To help us get along
Without you

It’s the least I could do
To show the world that you
Will be missed

We know where you’ve been
You know where we’re going
Wir wissen, wir werden sehen

Christine
Your life has truly been…. an inspiration

I’ve seen
The beauty that was in…your transformation

Christine
It took dying to live
Christine
That’s the legacy you give

The news came to you
With a bucket list to do
In short time

The lessons you’ve taught me
Lives every day you see
It’s a fine line

We know where you’ve been
You know where we’re going

Making the days count
An example you were showing

The winds of change have singed
The winds of change are blowing
Wir wissen, wir werden sehen

Christine
Your life has truly been….an inspiration
I’ve seen
The beauty that was in…your transformation

Christine
It took dying to live
Christine
That’s the legacy you give
