Thanks for posting  , such a silly excuse for learning to play properly  , sort of like asking a girl out and when you're together you just smack her around with a pillow instead of giving her a kiss and a hug

Hi Red Paul: hmmmm. A sax player is clearly a vital part of the rig. I don't think there would be much of interest to listen to without him. (Someone who understands the concept of camera focus might be nice too.)

BTW: quick tip. You can get exactly the same sound by playing an ordinary electric guitar with a drum stick. Perhaps he hasn't realised?

Buddy Guy does amusing things to his Strat with a drum stick, I recall. Worth watching out for if someone's doing some YouTubing.

Cheers - C

The anti relic'ing lot are going to have a thing or two to say about hitting your guitar with a drumstick.

Not for me, I'm afraid. Though it looks like fun till the novelty wears off. I just enjoy playing normaly, too much.

I don't think anyone is suggesting for one minute that this is a replacement for a normal guitar, just an additional option... a diferent approach, something to experiment with, a novel change. One good thing is that it's on a stand, so you could easily play it with your Strat (or whatever) still hanging around your neck... for those who like a bit of variety/novelty it could be use, say, just for an intro or for a certain middle eight (maybe with exotic effects added), without having to abandon your regular guitar. If you tuned it to an open tuning you could even get your drummer to play it!!

For anyone who's interested, the inventor Tom Shaper is playing the LA Guitar Festival over the July 4th weekend, so you could check it out for real! (He plays regular guitars too!) www.laguitarfestival.com. He also plays regular local gigs in and around Cleveland Ohio. I've never seen him play live, as I'm in the wrong continent...

PS: yep, Buddy Guy often has a go with a guitar stick, as does John Mayer...
