Hey yall when Im playin on my les paul and I go up to past the 15th fret and that area the notes sound thin and not full. But when Im playing before the 12th fret or on the fret it sounds fine. Acoustically it sounds fine up there. Could it be my pickups? My strat has been setup by the same people and nothing wrong. Note- my Les Paul has been fret dressed twice.
Thanks, Izzy

Your frets may be too flat (since you said they have been dressed before) up past the 15th and need a recrown, or your action is too low and the strings are on the verge of choking out. But I think most likely is that your pickups (neck in particular) could be set way too close to the strings.

How old are the pickups? Playing below the 12th fret you get way more string vibration thus creating a bigger, wider intrusion into the magnetic field >louder response.
