Make sure it's not a G&L Tribute series.
$750 for one of those is not a "good deal" they are the offshore G&L's and cost much less than their US made counterparts.

If it's a US made G&L for $750 and it's in good shape it's a decent deal.
If you like Fender guitars, you will like G&L guitars. Leo tweaked a couple of things from his Strat and Tele designs but they play and feel just about the same.

Bottom line G&L ARE QUALITY GUITARS.But if you have time do your home work, ask the owner the year the model go on ebay see if you find one also check under completed listings and see what they sold for make sure its a U.S model go play some telecasters at some store near you to make sure it is the one ,You dont want to go 2 months down the road check something out and go man I should of waited and got this.If everything is to your needs then get it.I dont under stand when you say you only know 2 or 3 country licks are you looking for a tele because you like it but think it is just for country or is country the direction you would like to go.Because outside of metal you can play just about anything with a tele Rock- a tele thats what your hearing on the first 2 led zeppelin albums ,and all rollingstone songs. And a tele has that piercing tone for blues. It truly is a great guitar

Yes if that is for a G&L (USA) that is a very low price in fact almost half price plus for some models but if it is a Trubute by G&L thats more then most new are.
