Well, I can think of a couple of similiar places, but we'd need a definite headcount before contacting the appropriate people to try and set it up.

On a side note (or E#) - try thinking from a club owner's point of view. If he/they could make any $ on hosting a jam without losing regular patrons, it could be a win-win situation.

Also, what Jim wrote is very true with most regular jams that happen weekly here also :

Quote:
There were no set lists but a few rules: no combination of players got more than 3 songs or 15 minutes before a change had to be made, everyone got to play and were mixed accordingly with skill level. If you were great and could solo and the band knew it you could play what you want. If you were inexperienced and could only handle three chord rhythms we put you with others that could carry it. No down time: the sets and songs for each rotation had to be ready to hit the stage/floor as soon as the change could be made. Someone has to run it and be in charge. Make a list (who plays with who in what order), stick to the list. The main thing is it had to be musical and entertaining, not 10 guitars making noise.
[/quote]

As someone mentioned in an earlier post, a club/bar that usually hosts bands might not be a bad idea. If it were, say, a Sunday afternoon (as was suggested), it wouldn't cut into their business and they would have business that they wouldn't usually have. OR if it was on a smaller scale, a bar that has bands play and hopefully guarantee however many people they want to book a band and book the event as if it were a band (obviously telling them what was going on, but you get the point). Just some thoughts cuz it is a cool idea.
For now, I would say I would like to be in, but it depends on the where/when. I can't spend a lot on travel/hotel, especially since my family hasn't had a proper vacation yet this year.
Hoping,
SB

Connecticut would be great for me.

Might want to see if there's a way to branch an arm into the Ovation (now Guild) plant in New Hartford (owned by Fender). I do know the Let's Talk Guild forum guys did an entire get together there, but those of us who own old Guilds in the world probably are less then the number of Strat owners....just in my town.

I thought CT would be a good central location too. I tried to get a studio that's not too far from where 53Magnatone lives, but they declined due to their heavy schedule.
