Got my new Fender Squier Strat + Rock Band 3 controller on wednesday night.

Like to say a big thanks to gamer1st for recommendations

Very impressed with the finish of the guitar as were the staff at the local music shop where I picked up some extras for it (spare strings, plectrum, tuner etc)

Although I can't really play yet, one of the staff quickly belted out a blues riff on it. :D

My left hand and shoulder is killing me now from muscles I'm not used to using, but will be definately sticking with it, and will be getting a few lessons from the tutor at the local rock school in the near future.

I know there is still a bit of mixed opinion over Rock Band and detracting from real music, but at least for me, if this guitar had not been released, I would have probably gone for the midi Fender Mustang Controller, the one with buttons instead of strings (glad I saw the video for the squier on youtube though) - even my 3 year old son sat on my lap and just plucked at the strings for over an hour mesmerised with the sound - so he wants a little guitar of his own now. (so does older daughter).

damn - got the bug now 8)
