I don't want to get too involved in this thread. Last time I got into a True Bypass argument with someone in another forum, it ended up being the ugliest argument I'd ever been a part of. It went WAY off the deep end.

For the most part, in a band setting, you'd have to have the ears of a dog and even that would be a reach, to hear a difference in any tone sucking coming from most pedals in question. That's been my position for many years, and I'm sticking to it.

I do have exceptions to that. And one would be certain wah pedals. I Won't even touch those cheaper Morleys. That was the worst thing I ever put into a chain. It was definitely noticeable that it murked things up heavily even when it wasn't switched on.

I think there's still a hint of truth to certain pedals being better off True Bypass. You know what? I'm just gonna blame Morley for the whole TB mess. :P

A good buffered output or two help a load with those long leads too. And lets face facts people. Sometimes you gotta have a long lead. Or go wireless.

I'm with Shred, it's not a priority to any appreciable degree. Though the only Wah I noticed absolute sonic mirk when using was a ColourSound thing, years ago. Horrible wah, horrible sound, horrible action to the pedal. Now they go for silly money just because their old.

yeap. im ditching my crybaby for the zak wylde verson.
it has a more throaty mid range and not that ear piercing highs like the baby i have, plus the pedal sensitivity to the foot is adjustable. you can adjust how much pressue it takes
to operate the pedal, a God send if you ask me.

I'd have to say that I like the foot sensitivity feature thing. But as far as the piercing highs on a Crybaby, all you have to do is replace a cap and a resister. You can find instructions on the mod by Google searching. I have my Crybaby modded with a different resister in the voicing, a .022 cap in the sweep range, and a TB switch. Only costs about $10 to do the mods.

Sometimes you can just loosen the rack and turn the pot so it can't travel as far. I've done that for years with quite a few wahs.
