When you buy an instrument, do you ask yourself if you really worth it in terms of talent?

As an exemple, I don't think it really makes sense, always in terms of talent, if a beginner buy a 4000$+ custom shop.

So, do you ask yourself?

Nope. If I want something, and I know that I will use it, then I will get it. The only thing I tend to ask myself is whether or not she will get mad at me.

Some people do, and some people don't. You see kids in high school talent shows who can't play using $1000 guitars, then you see the hardworking player/gigger on 1 that costs half that, and sounds twice as good. If a person is just starting out and has $4000 to spend on something you don't know how to do yet, then by all means spend it, but it may not be the most sensible thing to do because if they decide a few months later or a year later that guitar is not for them, then they just dropped $4000 they could have saved for their next hobby trial.

Personally, its more a financial decision than a talent one, if I can afford it or I think its a good price I get it.

I don't think it matters, If you like it and want to pay for it, go ahead
I'm certainly not my CS strat worthy in talent compared to some guys playing CIJ or MIM strats, but then again, theres always some young kid with a cheap-ass guitar thats better than you, and there will always be

It proved to me that money CAN buy me love, and I believe love is what music is all about  And the real deal, the CS made me want to learn and advance as a player(having fooled around for 3 years on that punk/grunge 'crank the Big Muff, play, and see what happens' thing, which I'm still suffering much from)

"Do you worth it?"

I do worth it.

My value guitar keeps with talent of playableness.

But I spend never more than Custom Shop value.
