Mike -Thanks for your very kind words!

I was looking around on YT, and found that the runner up Monte B. had uploaded a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_69FSm88rE&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL.

When someone says, "This is the blues," they're often trying to convince someone--either the audience or themselves--that they aren't lying. It's kinda like saying, "Trust me..."

In either case, I rarely believe them.

Not impressed with the slide parts.

And, Monte had a video of the winner Richie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05NAtGe3Hh0&feature=related.

Didn't like the guy's tone, but he had some licks.

I have a slightly modded '63 Vibroverb RI at home

Not to hijack your thread, but what mods do you have on your '63 Re-Issue Vibroverb?

I have one as well, and I love that thing...it's the best guitar and harp amp I've ever owned, outside of an old Bassman.

I changed out the speakers on mine when the original Oxford-style cones blew.

Hey nice playing man!

I did that competition twice (not this year).

Lost out to graham whitford my first time..ehhh. I sort of knew that was happening.
didn't really feel like playing once he was rushed by every store employee, judge etc. as soon as he walked in the store.
Talked to him a little after, he was a nice kid. Very nice custom shop strat he was playing too. The guy that was runner up to him was a MONSTER! killer chops and tone.

And last year, I drank alot of pinot before and couldn't get my tone right, didn't have perfect pitch with all of my bends. Played sloppy/missed notes etc. but actually had a blast doing it, it's pretty much guitar karaoke and hard to really "feel" it. Atleast, for me it was. I played on the egnater last year and kept switching channels during my performance/tweaking knobs (my first time using that amp). Either way, I had fun.
Again, good job Tony!

I had my amp tech at Abel Audio install FREDS (fast recovery epitaxial diodes). I had FREDS installed in the original tweed 4x10 Blues DeVille that I used to own as well. You can read about FREDS here about half way down the page http://www.tonequest.com/askour.htm.

They really do make a different IMO.
