A simple question : do you care about the future value of your instrument when you buy it?

I'll buy a guitar to resell if I find a bargain but, if I'm buying for me I could care less about future value. All I care is do I love to play that guitar.

Nope. I'll buy something cause that is what I want. I try to take care of my stuff, but if I should ding or scratch or whatever, I don't immediately think "Oh no, there goes it's future value." It's now a battle scar, or a funny story. Everyone is different though.

Guitars are made to be played, so the only factor that I buy on is the sound and feel. I don't care if it has the potential to go up in value because if it sounds and feels like crap, its of no value to me in any way.

No. Why should I ?

I didn't buy my sports car for how much I could get for it ! I got it to drive.

I buy guitars to play (at least appear to play  ), not keep and sell.

Gil

Nope. I buy them to play. My grandkids can think about the value of them 40 or 50 years down the road.

When I buy a guitar it is for playing not for putting in case and letting it gain value.

Not really because I don't think about getting rid of a guitar while I am buying it. It's been a really long time since I sold one.

Yes but I only have one guitar I don't play for resell. And half of the reason is because it can't be tuned under standard tuning.
