what do you guys think?... comes with a case, gloss finished tinted neck, alder body, looks like lake placid blue but not sure... it ain't a fender but it looks cool and cheap and open for mods...

should i buy or should i save for a squier cv50 lake placid blue that i'm gonna end up drilling?

+1

There's a reason that Fender instruments command the respect that they do.

i doubt it's plywood cause there is a model on this brand that is considered basswood for 79€ this one has "alder" written there and not basswood i don't think the company would make that mistake... still going for a squier though

true but there are a few reasons why i don't do it:

-it's hard to find a good used guitar for sale around the european union;

-portuguese customs are pretty greedy when they come from anywhere else;

-i can't recall there ever being another lake placid blue strat in the squier brand;

-anything else i like is hard to find like the cyclone (which i would buy in alternative if i could)

Crap, yea you're right, you guys have it tougher on the old motherland. How much is a used Squier in your area? Are you able to try that other guitar before buying?

well there is this guy that's selling a used standard squier in candy apple red for 150€ so i dunno really it depends... no not really that model but i have tried an inferior model of a jazz bass of that brand and if the neck really is finished i think with a proper setup it'll sing like nothing else... i'm installing a jb pickup on the bridge of whatever i'm buying for me to try humbuckers for the first time... there are times like these that i wish i stayed in toronto
