I am looking at a Pbass special on ebay and the seller lists the serial number as mz7118775. The product dater doesn't go past MZ5 for mexican made instruments. I am going to assume that they are still making instruments in Mexico and this list is not up to date. Or is this number a fake?

My strat has a serial # MZ7... and I checked with customer service and it was legit, however the fact does not make instrument legit, maybe a someone made a fake instrument and put a serial # that matched a real one...

End of story it's probably legit, it's not worth the trouble to fake a MIM, if it was a MIA or custom shop there would be a chance it was fake but with MIM fakes don't pop up too often.
