thats what you need to do. learn everything major first. scales, chords, how everything relates, how to build chords, learn all the major keys first.
i know several cheap books that can help you.

I am checking out the 'gypsy' scale at the moment. Like minor but REALLY minor...

Great fun and a bit weird.......as per usual for me.....

your doing better than most. i know people that have been studying major for 15 yrs and still can say what you just did, and youve been playing 3 yrs right?
if you know major, minor should be a walk in the park for you.

At the moment I am working on a Joe Satriani song, "Littleworth Lane", from his latest album. I'm also working on a couple of my own songs. In the near future I'm going to pick up more technique exercises and stuff, as I'm finding that my fingers can't play the ideas my brain wants to hear!!

Practicing chords for Who songs and trying to get them right without looking at the neck. Not all that easy.

Yellow Ledbetter (Pearl Jam Lost Dogs - Disc 1) has some very tasty licks, not to mention some challenging vocals! Kudos for that song choice! 8)

You get that down and you are definitely doing something! I think the lead part is almost easier than the rhythm.
