I disagree, with the assumption that Bin Laden could/should have been captured long ago. There has been an infrastructure in Pakistan, Afghanistan that regarded Bin Laden as a freedom fighter, thwarting attempts and misleading efforts and intelligence which would have led to his capture.
The very fact that he was living in a large Multi million Dollar compound close by to a military base is rather revealing. 6 years he has been there...
I'm dissapointed that we ( the public ) will now never have answers to the questions that have never been answered concerning the history dating back all the way to the Soviet Kurd conflict 25+ years ago.
At the time Bin Laden was already Persona Non Grata as far as his family was concerned and the advice from the Bin Laden family was " TO NOT " develop relations with him.
That stupidity resulted in the 1998 US Embassy bombings, the 1st World Trade Center attack ( before 9/11 ) and many other terrorist attacks to follow worldwide over the next decades.

The history is ugly, there are no participants on any side that one could consider as just.
It is international politics, exploitation of one for the other and vice versa.
Unfortunately and tragically, many thousands have died here at 9-11, in Iraq thousands of young men and women will never return home, in Afghanistan also the death toll is in the Thousand +.

Lest anyone think otherwise, I'm relieved Bin Laden is gone, I would like to see in the future a more intelligent approach to relations with the Middle East and Africa. Less myopic goals and a broader view of all concerned may allow us to live in a less hostile world that on a day to day basis is becoming smaller due to advancements in Tech Communications and travel logistics.
It would be nice to be able to travel worldwide without the anxiety of wondering wether I am traveling to a safe region.

I'm given to understand that, as a Saudi national, his government was offered to accept his body and refused. Having satisfied that most appropriate and politically correct gesture, the next most politically and diplomatically wise decision was to follow the tenets which you have cited and expedite his burial. Hopefully the entire world's oceans will not be declared a holy shrine, sacrosanct and not to be violated. Another bit of idiocy to mount a jihad over.

Could anyone please explain to me how impact with the upper levels of each tower still managed to cause the entire building to implode upon itself? I'd just like to know the physics behind it.
