I don't think this will change much. There's a fair few men just as "devoted" as he was just waiting to take his place. He was just a scapegoat and I'm pretty sure Al Queda will still be pretty strong despite mabye a slight setback.

To be honest I see this more like kicking the hornets nest than a victory.

oh its a victory, no matter how small, its still a victory.
the war is far from over, but still, its a victory.
we gave our word to the victim's and their families of 911,
and it is done. no it wont change what happened, nor will it soften
the blow of 911 either. but for a moment maybe these people and
their faimlies can feel a small piece of justice for their loss
on that tragic day.
now maybe the healing can begin. just maybe.

sure if you didnt lose anybody that tragic day you might not see this as a small victory, or a small piece of justice like i mentioned above.
we arent talking about a economy victory here arjay, we are talking directly about the victims and their families.
hell no for the economy it isnt over, not by a long shot. it never will be, it never will be as good as it once was. EVER.

So,the s.o.b. is dead...I wouldn't take 1,000,000 dead bin ladens for just 1 of the people we've lost.

Somehow,this country lost 58,000 in Vietnam and people spit on the ones that came back,and now the propaganda machine wants everyone to cheer our efforts in the ME while the war machine chews up more of our people.

This is what someone commented on the situation on the BBC website, and I have to say I kind of agree with them..

I don't want to offend anyone, especially this who lost someone on September 11. If this helps them feel better then good. However Osama Bin Laden was hyped up to be much more than he was by the media. He was more like the Ronald McDonald of Al Queda, just a public face. He was just the money, not a mastermind villians like you would get in a James Bond movie. Al Queda is massive, and killing one, albeit well known, man won't stop them. They still have hundreds, if not.thousands of operatives around the world prepared to kill as many as they can. There will still be a hierarchy that will be in control.

Don't get me wrong, one less terrorist in the world is a good thing, and I'm glad he's dead - I'm just trying to be realistic.
