I've heard both good and bad from people I know.

Personally, I don't like the idea of purchasing second hand from people I don't know, via a computer and a long ways off.

In just short of 900 transactions I have had two sellers that were bad, however I have had 30 or more bad buyers (cons) in that same period.

If a seller has been around for a while, its a good bet they are O.K.

Unfortunately you cant really pick your buyers, there are some safeguards but its still a roll of the dice as to the person bidding on your stuff.

And then there is the complainer that wants it in new condition even though they paid 50% of retail cost, ya gotta love those babies !!!!

some people can be very ugly when trying to rip you off.

Just do your homework and check their feedbacks - dont be stupid about it - dont send somone 1000 bucks if they have negative feedbacks, or have only a few feedbacks - ive bought and sold stuff on there for almost 8 years now - only had a couple small problems and that was on very small, in expensive items - Ive never had any problems with expensive guitars or amps - ive bought many of each, and sold many of each - Paypal is very safe as well

You can normally get a good read on a seller by reading the product description - sometimes it will be a pawnshop or something and not have a clue what they are selling - but usually individuals that know their stuff, you can tell by reading their descriptions

when I buy or sell something vintage, I normally get in touch with the other party via telephone before making a transaction - Ill send extra pictures, or request extra pictures - ive actually made a few buddies buying and selling on there

Happy Bidding!!

i didnt buy a whole guitar from ebay cause i usaully want to play before i buy. but i bought a bunch of real fender parts and put together my own guitar. i think its probably pretty hard not to bond with the guitar if you built it yourself. mine plays great.

i have'nt uploaded a pic of it with the nut and string yet but its got a floyd rose nut and string bar. it turned out looking like a professionally made guitar, and plays that way also.

I haven't bought anything in a few years but I bought a great Lake Placid Blue Jazmaster just like the one to the left, a Fender Cyclone and a Hwy1 Strat. No problems with the transactions and I still have all three.

I believe most of you have heard about my amp that had the blown out speaker. in the end, it was no problem cause they guy didn't know and gave me the money for a new one. But I just got my tele from ebay, and I love it! It's great so far. I don't think i've really perchased anything else of much vallue there, though...

HelloX-road,

My largest ebay purchase $750,
never been burnt.

Although

My sister was taken for 3 dollars
when the seller never sent her
a little hot wheels car.

Keep your Karma clean.

Cheers.
