i think its pretty cool especially good if playing with friends or at a party.
but the new controller is a good idea but i wouldn't want to spend the same as another guitar for a controller so maybe try to get a cable or interface than can convert it to work with rockband.
Also is a left handed version of the new real guitar controller?

get fender into rockband strong. the more exposure the brand gets the better. If fender released regular strat or tele controllers they will be enjoyed and the name will be ingrained deeper into the music conscious. Best thing you could do is mimic current catalog with Rockband controllers and then every now and then release a very limited run of special controller. Rockband is fun, playing guitar is MORE fun. get every person you can familiar and enjoying Fender and it is win-win for all of us. just my opinion.

I have played only a couple of time. I played before the new controllers with more realistic guitar functionality. I was turned off because it was not like playing the real thing. Yes I would be more interested in a game that actually taught you to play the songs, not just mash buttons on Que with the music.

I love Rock Band! My buddies and I have a few beers and rock out! Even better with a controller with strings!!

I play rock band with my 10 yr old daughter... I hated it at first, but it really is a great way for me to bond with the most precious person in my life... and besides now she is interested in listening to classic rock and it will likely get her interested in playing guitar when she is ready for that...

However, I prefer guitar hero for the guitar work... but the vocals are better on rock band... for what that is worth...

I would not be interested in buying a special "fender" control.... I mean why ??
