I'm thinking of purchasing a Fender T-Bucket 400CE, or a Fender CD220CE, has anyone owned/ played these guitars and if so, whats your opinion? I have looked at reviews, however I value your opinions (being fellow forum members), and would like to hear them! I plan on playing these guitars as soon as I can make it to a music store, just wondered if they are worth the time.
Thanks in advance
J

I played a T-Bucket before. It's no Martin, but a good solid top guitar for the price. 8)

Martin = overrated.

There are many great ones, but just because it says Martin on the headstock does not make it a good guitar.

I have two Fender acoustics (one from the 80s, one from the late 60s/early 70s), and while neither is collectable or valuable (monetary), I would put them beside most acoustics of a higher pedigree, as far as playability, fit, finish and tone. Several "gear snobs" have looked down their noses at these guitars, but after playing them, they have to admit they're great guitars.

ive had opportunity to be able to play some "nice higher dollar" acoustic guitars in my days. the ones that ALWAYS stand out to me in the crowd of many, is the yamaha acoustics. the sound good, they play good, and the are mid priced. best bang for the buck.
not all of them are a winner but more often than not they are quality guitars at a very affordable price.

I think that's more of a true statement as you get into the X series guitars. I have to say that my Performing Artist series Martin is a very nice guitar for the money, although it isn't quite as beautiful as their more higher $$$ instruments.

Epiphone also makes great acoustic guitars that could stand up to their Gibson counterparts any day.I have an EJ-160-E John Lennon model that is one of the best acoustics I've ever played plus it has the ability to be used as an electric-all for only about $500.Yamaha acoustics are also great guitars but then again Fender acoustics really are brilliant guitars too.

Hi Jayro, was looking at some acoustics not long ago, not specificaly to buy, I had time on my hands was in a guitar shop and just got curious, first thing I was looking at was how it felt playing wise, discounted a few but still couldn't make my mind up, began listening closer to how it rang out, sustained etc anyway got talking with the guy in the shop who sat in front of me and started playing some of them too and the point is this you hear a completely different sound in front of an acoustic than you do playing one some of the ones I didn't care for sounded so sweet and mellow and others a bit tinny and not as full sounding.............I'm just confusing the issue here ain't I, thing is some of the lower end guitars sounded every bit as good as the high end Martins & Taylors depending on which side of the guitar your standing, just something to consider.

ps should add I'm not an expert by any means just my thoughts, good hunting

I dont know about you But MONEY has a big houdydoo in my buying. I'v been checking out Blusey Little Guitars and found Gibson Blues king, way to much. Martons are nice but to much. Epephone EL00 $300. just right and sounds about as good as a Blues King. But wait a second here, On my way home without a New Guitar I had one more stop to make. What do you know They had a Samac Greg Bennett GOM 100 Small Guitar $200. plays wonderfull and looks and sounds just as good. She now has a new name (My Girl) and a new home. My advice, Check out her Sister and save some cash. :wink: :wink:

Add Ibanez and Takamine to the mix. In the $200.00 to $300.00 range there are a few great sounding guitars out there.
Happy hunting,
John.E
