The bass is just so mint but not since I dropped in the Quarter pound Pickup. I guess really since noone would ever see the holes except when repairing or changing pickups or just to remove the guard, it wouldn't make a difference. The holes don't have any effect on tone. It's just a mental thing . For around 30 bucks I can just buy a pickguard. Still thinking.

The guard I have has one hole in the middle about an inch away from the neck pickup-- the other hole is on the curved part of the pickguard in the middle closest to your chest on the bass side of the guitar-- ???? I don't know how else to describe it. As far as I know right now the rest of the holes line up-- I'm in another room but I'm going down to the man cave here shortly. I think my brain is telling me to do it-- DO IT!! put the shell awsome p guard on the bass!!!!

I have a MIM 60th Stratocaster in Blizzard Pearl. I love this finish. It's gorgeous.

Everybody else's Blizzard Pearl axes look great, too! I love the look of that Jazz Bass and Tele!

Here's mine on the right. Need to get a better glamour shot of just her...

I love an all maple neck-- the kind with just a lttle hint of flame in it-- but I'll take a plain old maple board on any guitar over rosewood if I have my choice. A mild or strong V all maple neck is a thing of beauty.

Maple looks great with the Blizzard Pearl.

Yes, as you can see I definitely have ane affinity (no pun intended) for maple on my Fenders.

My '51 has an absolutely beautiful Birdseye fretboard (maple with meple cap neck).

My '57 AVRI (25 years together this month!) has a little flame on the back as does the E series Squier Tele.

The MIM 60th actually has the plainest wood, but it's a really nice neck playing-wise. And, pf course, it's Blizzard Pearl!

Hi Fender Land folks. I just received in a '10-'11 Am. Std. Jazz with the Blizzard Pearl finish. Is anyone else getting, or have a Fender Bass or 6 stringer with Blizzard Pearl finish? I like it with the Parchment PG and Maple fretboard. Any preferences to the combinations of Fretboard, or PG with the Blizzard Pearl?

definitely a beautiful color and the maple fretboard accents the BP/pick-guard. the rosewood fretboard on my red P-bass warms up it's tone a tad when played next to my black P-bass with a maple neck which is a little more comfortable than the neck on the red P-bass.

My Strat is chrome silver which looks to be the same. If I'd had a choice (lefty version) that color would not be high on my list but it beats the heck out of plain old black and a lot of other colors. I may repaint it next year.

When I got my "11" Tele I ordered black. I even got my wife a Black on Black Strat there cool But that is a lot of black. Ithink if I were in the market, the Blizzard Pearl would be a nice change, I also like the new Red, I dont know what it's called off hand. Nice Guitar. :)

I am trying like a Monkey on a Football to put my photobucket pics up so we can gaze at my Blizzard Pearl Awesomeness of Creation but it's not working. I have even made a new topic in P bass guitars for help. Maybe someone can figure out my scribbled mind and lend a hand to a guy laying by the side of the road in dirty Cyberspace.

I've hardly played it and I've had it almost a year. The guy who bought it only played it for a few brief sittings- is what he told me. I traded a MM for it. The guy didn't like the Jazz, I didn't like the MM.

With fretware on my basses--- I don't play super hard. I used to back in the days of Heavy Metal. I've eased up my touch these days and I go for getting the tone and volume from the Amp. So the rotosounds do wear frets just like any other round string will. To be honest I don't care . I played rotosounds on my 74 Precision from 1979 to1995. It was my only bass for most of that time. That's 16 years. So the bass went 21 years before it had a fret job. I actually did not need all of the frets. Only 4 or 5. I had them all replaced to just start with a clean slate. So I feel rotosounds and fretware in my case- unconsiquential.

Okay I said that and you prob didn't want all the info anyway-- sorry-- I guess I go all defensive when we start talking about Rotos and fretware.

I've heard a few bassist live lately-- the couple guys who were playing really hard sounded sloppy and the sound was all jumbled up. Not good. Dynamics in plucking pressure is where it's at .

Very nice. Great looking Strat. I have a Precision Bass on order with the Blizzard Pearl, and the Maple board like you Strat.

:)thanks FP. My last aquisition. It took me awhile to bond with it. The neck is a tad fatter than my other Strats though it is a C shape. My hands are small so I prefer the thinner necks. I've tweaked it till I liked it and we now have a good working relationship.
