Aragon Ballroom, 08 or 09, the Kid Rock show was sold out, great show, old music mixed with the new music and it worked. Don't know him personally so no comment on anything other than his music. "Devil Without a Cause" is the Kid Rock CD that I have and I thought that it was good enough to buy it.

Thanks guys, much the same for me but I have been listening to all summer long and a few of his newer songs and really like his newer music, alot of deep south there but my friend say its all to sell cuts, and for me I love the southern rock and I kinda get a feel for this as if he's do'in what he always had in his heart anyways, I fined him quiet a riot to listen to and I mean that with the highest of respect,I really enjoy his music and I mean the southern end of it, and I was just looking to see if other people had the same kinda views, some of my friends can,t get past the early days but you know how it is, as folks get older, musical values can change, and if theres a way to break in to the drifft, then why not go for it, and I kinda feel that he gone that root, and I can understand his change up, cuase its a tuff nut to crack for anyone. Music and the play is not as easy as some would have you believe. thank you for your re.

Got to amit I don,t quiet get it either, he could have done the southern stuff much earlier in his gig but like you said I guess it,s a re deal, go were it is for you and get paid, kinda cheapens it for me but like a fool I just can,t help but like the southern rock and wish from the heart that more bands would step up and push there way through the doors, keep it alive and strong the way it used to be,not that therer ain't bands doing that but I for one just want to see this always as a part of the music world, cuase if they stop! then I might as well stop to! theres not going to be anything out there for us older rocks to enjoy, just fluff and stuff and at that point you might as well just come and shoot me!

Hay Nev used to work in de, adjustin fuel meters, what a wild town for a c boy and I was only 16, driving truck for an old man meter man who was only one of twelve in the whole country, calabrasion and all that stuff, gears and all of that, used to take me to a place called the kalarnie house in windsor, ont, and get so smashed he,ed forget that he,ed have me with em and leave me there and take a cab back to his hotel room, and keep in mind, thats why they hired me, to drive him into the states and see that he'ed get back safe, hell man talk about sendin a boy to do a mans job! anyway met some really great people from de and still know them as friends today and am really impressed with the blues life there and the close ties to the chicago end of it, met some really teriffic guitar players there and its a really tuff place but music wise some of the very best players I have ever had honour of meeting, but man no joke and not a f--k me over kind of town, seen two guys get shot dead for tryin to take a striper home with them and not re there bar tab, wow please can I go home! then on the same night watched them beat a man to near death cuase he was offerin a lady a drink who,s husband was in the bar, not no gentil place at all, and I was only 16 and still gives me the shivers, and gettin 2.30 an hour 67 bucks a week, but man what a music happenin they had goin on there! makes it all worth it ya know, and I guess thats kinda why I put the post up in the first place, just to get a view on how it is today.

He's my favourite artist. I've already seen him live once and I'm going again in May, he puts on a great show. I much prefer his new style to his old stuff, but I enjoy it all. My favourite album would have to be Born Free, although I also really enjoy Cocky.

This is kind of interesting, in my opinion of coure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VXCuULh ... r_embedded

Just want to say thank you for that post and that I've never had the opertunity to see that convo, thank you very much, and it once again shed a new light for me! and I will more then likely get flack from some of my friends as to the heart of kid, but all I can say is god bless him and I will always stand tall for his efforts and music, for me I really enjoy it and am haveing a battle with others over there opinions of the past kid, but the past is the past, and he's breakin new ground and after all isn't thats what it's really all about! I even have a hard time with the fact that maybe he's just doin what gets him there, but in my heart deep down inside I want to believe in kid and his integrity towards the music that he's putin out there now, and mabe I'am fool, but I just can't stop thinkin what a good performer he is and really a very good and fun time to be with, and in my mind thats what it's really all about, and thats what counts to me, if it makes you happy than enjoy it to it's fullest, and be thankfull that these people give there heart and soul to us as a gift, so we can enjoy. :D

Steer clear of Grit Sandwiches for Breakfast, his first album. I'm a fan of Kid Rock but that first one is terrible IMHO. His newer albums (2000's) are good, but the early music has too much of the pimp and ho stuff going on.

I had only heard a few of his tunes until last summer, when we saw
him open for Bon Jovi and holy shinola...he may be the hardest working
performer in show biz since James Brown.

His music is one thing, but the "performance factor" is another and maybe
the best place to see what he's all about? He pours his heart and soul into
every song and has an energy level that's way above most performers that
I've seen. (not the easiest thing to do with a full tour schedule!)

I'd love to see him release a "live" album!
