Cool fact. I like things like this.
For instance, I only found out the other day that SRV played for David Bowie on the Let's dance album.

I love useless facts too..

As for that SRV/Bowie thing, he was also supposed to do the tour for Bowie, but couldn't face it and bailed out when the coach arrived..

Jimmy Page played on any number of 60s hits as one of the most in-demand session players of the day. Delilah by Tom Jones is one such.

Did you know that Ritchie Blackmore and Gary Moore are (were) both left handed but play right handed?

Come on trivia hounds, feed our addiction..

as a left handed player i know how pointless left handed guitars are anyway- with right handed guitars your left is doing the most work!

The Who bassist John Entwistle once owned a Precision for every year of Production; though i have a feeling thats quite well known

really? i guessed he had one of every month...
and yes, lefthand guitars are pointless... you can't chose from, you can't lend one and no one will be as good as hendrix was!
(maybe i'll turn my strat upside down and start it all over... )

Now this I can use, I have an old Dylan reel, I must carefully listen to that track now.

Al Kooper played organ on Like a Rolling Stone. He wanted to play the session as the lead guitarist but since Bloomfield got it he fibbed his way into it and said that he could play organ-which he couldn't.He faked his way through the session playing the organ part using just 2 fingers but Dylan liked it so much that he asked the engineers to bring up the organ volume for the final mix.
Also re. Jimmy Page:all of the future Led Zepplin-minus Robert Plant-played on several Donovan hits.He is supposed to have played the lead on Sunshine Superman and Hurdy Gurdy Man but there is a bit of conflicting stories about Hurdy Gurdy Man.Jeff Beck also played on several Donovan songs such as Barabajagal,Trudi and Superlungs My Supergirl.

There was a great interview on NPR yesterday with Robbie Robertson. He was setting the record straight as far as playing with Bob Dylan as Dylan's band, before Robertson, Levon helm, Rick Danko, all became " The Band ". Ironically they were booed at just about everyplace they played as people were mistakenly thinking that Dylan had gone electric, whereas the reality was that as Robertson said in the interview, " What...? We were always an electric band.."

Definitely one of my all-time favorite songs by Van Morrison, Ted Nugent, Aerosmith etc.
