Went to my local GC today and saw this natural color SG Special on the wall. Did not intend to purchase a guitar, but man the tone of this guitar with the P90 won me over. Just purchased a American Special tele just two weeks ago, so two guitar purchases so far this year :D

These 60s tribute have the slim tapered 60s neck. Very comfortable and fast compared to the SG standards which are fat like a baseball bat.

This guitar gives a tone that reminds me of Pete Townshend with his SG Special. Here is my improve with Pete in mind. :D

Congrats. Good on you.

In this opinion, SGs are sort of Gibson's Jaguar/Jazzmaster; magnificent and underrated. Totally natural guitars are very sensual.

personally i'd say that on explorers and firebirds... the sg and the les paul are more like the strat and the tele in my personal opinion

Good point as the SG evolved from the Les Paul as the Stratocaster from the Tele.

the SG is not so underated... this guitar made the history books as well... as a matter of fact it is one of the 4 most iconic guitars as i see it (being the others the strat the tele and the les paul obviously) i dunno any blues players but it was created in 1961 and used by tonny iommi, angus young and eric clapton himself and since then fired off as one of the biggest rock guitars
