Brazilian. Around the house there are lots of jokes about the Portuguese, but don't worry nothing personal, We make jokes about Argentina too.

Ohh and I am 16 and moved to the US 7 years ago when I was 9 so I can't write in Portuguese

Interesting, is your name Caetano? If I recall correctly there is a singer that my father is a fan of by the name of Caetano Veloso.

You beat me to it Dharma.BTW the Portugese have very close historic ties to Newfoundland. For many centuries the Portugese fishing fleets came to our waters to fish and to our ports for rest and provisions or just to wait out North Atlantic storms. As a matter of fact this summer a newly restored schooner from the famous Portugese White Fleet is making an honorary visit to Newfoundland, the first since Canada stopped E.U. members from fishing inside our 200 mile limit.

well i guess that makes me the only portuguese guy in the forum... makes sense though few people love fenders here it's always gibson or ibanez that guitarrists play here with a few exceptions... the european metal scene is hitting hard here for some reason i've always been a punk guy... jacksons and charvels are the most shred i'll ever get i think (charvel cause i like the strat model with the floyd)... plus i dunno why but all of a sudden slash is the biggest guitarist here but no one from the 80's and early 90's knows guns n roses (i find him overated)

yeah i think we fish cod in newfoundland here it's one of the biggest products the tourists eat cause we "produce" the fish in a pretty unique way but toronto is still pretty big on portuguese imigrants the portuguese play a big roll in the community

The Newfoundland and Portugese methods of curing cod are just about identical. They are split and heavily salted on drying racks called flakes in NL. smaller cod are salted whole with the innards removed and they are called rounders.

We even have an island named Baccalieu island, taken from the Portugese,as a matter of fact a lot of our place names are from Portugese,Spanish,Italian and French as in early days different countries claimed the island as their own.
