The Joke is that folks LOL at such things as another persons face falling off because of a chosen life stial. What a shame that this can hapen to someone in AMARICA today. thank God that good medical atention is just a phone call away, and this kind of thing can be delt with and hopefully cured. My hat is off to our Forum Mate for shairing this story in a serious light :!:

Ever see a kid play with the mouth of a soft drink bottle, sticking its tongue in and out of the opening ?...[likely basic training for a future life.]

Well, a child presented to the ER of a hospital where I was on staff with such a bottle hanging from his tongue, he having created a negative air pressure inside the bottle. At 15lbs/sq in, a most formidable force pushing on one's tongue, preventing it from being withdrawn.

Soooooo......we took him into the dental unit and, using a standard dental handpiece carefully cut a bur hole in the bottle, equalizing the pressure  and...wha la!! 8)

No, and neither is he. But she, at the age of 23, would likely never have heard of him, and he, would first need a pacemaker trying to keep up with the likes of her.

So Doc' did you fix her pain problem?

I'm quite inspired by it. I've been a huge Slayer fan since I was thirteen. Around about the time I had some bridgework done after a bad fall.
If I'd known I'd have insisted "Slayer" be engraved into the bridge section. Or maybe "If you can read this, you'll likely loose your nose".
Never did understand why people choose to colour themselves in.

Absolutely!! They're usual told around the table at breakfast, lunch, dinner and such. You can't believe how many people inadvertently get impaled on chairlegs and doorknobs.

She was referred to the Bellevue Hospital ER to be admitted to the Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery service for med/surg management of the lip. These cases are often lost to followup but I'm going to look into it next week due to an ongoing snafu with the referral process. There's a far more complex problem with her than just the infection, and who knows how long a process that will be, if ever, to resolve.
