One thing I want to point out about buying juices. I did buy some from Totally Wicked when I bought my e-cigs. Their juice actually started giving me asthmatic-like symptoms. I was told that it might have been due to the ratio of PG/ VG mix. Some people don't react very well to PG based liquid.

Since then, I've gone with at least 70VG/30PG mixes, even 100% VG, U.S. only liquid, and those symptoms disappeared. So that diagnosis did seem to be the case as far as I can tell.

Just putting the caution out there to make sure you evaluate what you're using thoroughly. Learn the differences of PG and VG, and definitely be wary of how your body is reacting to certain liquid mixes. Better to toss them instead of continuing with something your body doesn't care for.

I'm already finding myself Vaping less. Maybe a few times a day just to curb any strong urges. This does appear to be working very well for me.

Thanks for the heads up. Luckily the ones I ordered are PG free.

So guys I got my kit today, and I'm pleased to say that since the moment I was finished charging the batteries I haven't had a cigarette; haven't even wanted one. I went with the Blu Cigs products and they seem pretty good so far. Pretty close to realistic, and I think that is the most important thing to keep me off of the cancer sticks, at least for these first few days. So far so good, and I think I may finally be able to kick the cigarettes once and for all. I also find that I've only been taking a few puffs here and there of the e-cig, so if I continue at this pace, my savings will be much more than I originally thought.

It is possible Tim. It has worked very well for me. This Sunday will be the last I ever see of my e-cig as well. I'm making a trip to Monterey California to play a big festival. On my way, I'm passing my whole kit and all of my juice to my step-mom who's looking to quit smoking as well. I really don't even need e-cigs anymore.

Just make sure you don't up your nicotine mg. Keep going backward with the dosage and it can work for you. All I've got to say at this point is where do I buy stock? In all of my years of smoking and trying to quit at the same time. This has been miles above any other method I've ever tried.

Good luck man.

:D

Darned good news guys, I'm glad for both of you. I still enjoy using mine, although I'm using the lowest level of nicotine, and I just started using the tank system, fill up and it's good for a day or two. Vaporizers rock! Maybe someone can write a song about them.....Tim?....Shredd?....anyone?

That's good to hear Shredd...I might keep these around to puff on once in a while, but I'll step down to the lowest nicotine levels at least. By that point honestly I'll probably just let them go.

I don't know about a song about them, but maybe I can work my vocals back to acceptable now that I'm not frying my lungs with the Winstons.

Good luck Wookee, I was skeptical at first about ordering, but now that I have them I'm pretty happy with them.

One observation that I have to point out about Vaping is that it seems that tobacco flavored juices are harsh in comparison to many other "candy" flavored juices. When you see the words "throat hit" in a description of a juice, It does appear to mean exactly that. I've found tobacco flavored juices to actually hurt my throat whereas a juice like Caramel is very smooth and won't have a sore effect on the back of your throat.

My two favorite flavors that I encountered were Caramel and Cinnamon (Red Hot or Big Red flavored). The Caramel is very sweet and smooth, and the Cinnamon is like inhaling a Tic Tac when you really need it. Just before talking to the ladies. And that's the best part of Vaping as opposed to smoking. It doesn't chase people away by the smell of it. There's such a minute amount of odor that it doesn't offend, and whatever can be smelled is more pleasant anyway.

Haven't noticed much harshness from the Blu cigs, but I smoked Winstons for years and those were pretty harsh.
I am really liking the lack of odor from the e-cigs as well. I'm already noticing how strong the smoke odor is on my friends and family that smoke. It's actually stronger than I remembered it being.

Well the batteries that came in my blu cigs kit seem to be no good. I'm getting very little use out of each charge. I'm gonna send them back for replacements, and give them a shot again. But in the event that this doesn't work for me, what brands are you guys using that are working well? I reluctantly went and bought a pack of smokes today, and as soon as I can remedy this situation I'll be back off them.

That sucks, I hope that your replacements work better. This is the kit that I bought (link below), and I picked up one extra battery (pass through type that can be plugged into a USB port while using). I have been using the same three batteries since November, alternating use equally. I chose this kit over the lower priced kit partly because the batteries are a higher mAh (651mAh), meaning that they will last about all day before needing a recharge as compared to the smaller batteries in the lower priced kit, which need a charge after about three hours (180mAh), and partly because this is the kit that the store owner uses and recommends, and he should know. These higher mAh batteries are supposed to last for about one hundred recharges, or about three to four months depending on amount of use. Keeping the battery and parts clean will extend the life, so I try to clean my parts each time before recharging, especially the battery and atomizer contact points. The juice will get onto the contacts and can drastically affect the performance. It seems that most parts/batteries are usually not interchangeable between brands.

P.S.
I just started using the tank system for my vaporizer, which consists of a different type of atomizer and a small plastic tank mouthpiece that holds much more juice than the standard mouthpiece, using the same batteries that I already have. I fill it only about once per day as opposed to the several refills per day of the older style.

Thanks Shimmi...I'll give them a shot if Blu doesn't take care of this situation.

Smokeless and Vape free.. This thing really did work.

Tim, I do think you should go with a tank system myself. The Ego or Totally Wicked Tornado Tank (same thing). My T.W. Tank was a great product. Now passed on to my Step-mom. One charge was lasting me a day and a half.

When I was choosing what I was going to buy, that was my biggest factor. How long would the battery last? Because when you're waiting for something to take an hour to charge, it's too easy to think about going to the store in 5-minutes and get your fix. When both of your e-cigs can last 6+ hours, and you only use them one at a time, that never becomes an issue.

Yep. It's official. I'm now smoke and Vapor free. Took just over a month. Let's keep our fingers crossed again. So far, so good.

That's fantastic Shredd6, congratulations! You are the first that I've heard of that gave up the vaporizer, and after such a short time too. Good job, I am very happy for you. :D

Thanks shimmilou. And thanks for bringing the e-cig to my attention. It wasn't anything like the vaporizer tasted bad once I got the juices I liked. I think I found myself feeling a little silly sucking on the contraption in public. It still felt like a nervous habit.

Also, like I mentioned before, some of the higher PG tobacco flavored juices were hurting my throat and giving me asthma like symptoms. It was pretty much at that point that I knew I wanted off the vapor soon as well. I do think that vapor is much less harmful than smoking, but part of me still thinks PG can still be slightly harmful. How much, I couldn't tell you. I'm just basing that off of my personal experience with it.

Either way, thanks again. I'm cured so far as I know. I feel pretty normal. No strange urges to smoke at all. 8)

Congrats on quitting man...I sadly enough have smokes in my pocket right now... I'm sending back the kit I got from Blu and I think I'll order the ego or totally wicked kit. I'm a pretty heavy smoker, and a lot of times I'm one to smoke two cigs at once, and the blu batteries were dying in about 20 - 25 puffs (their website claims a life of 2 cartridges or ~500 puffs). Wasn't working for me, especially with the wife using the other battery trying herself to quit. So we're gonna switch it up and try one of the brands you guys suggested. We both want to break the grips of these stupid cancer sticks.
What juices were you using? And do those come from the same place as the kit or seperate?
Thanks again guys for the advice (and inspiring me to quit smoking.)
