After a few failed attempts, I finally quit smoking cigarettes last November. It seems that I had to admit that I just liked smoking and didn't really want to quit, but also knew the health problems associated with smoking and felt that I should quit. I tried nicotine patches, lozenges, gum, among other methods to try to quit, all without success.

Then I discovered vaporizers, or e-cigarettes, and completely quit smoking cigarettes the next day after buying a kit and using it. I have not had so much as a puff since, don't miss it at all. The vaporizer doesn't use tobacco, and doesn't burn anything, but uses a liquid that when heated produces a vapor, that when inhaled feels like smoking, and provides the oral fixation satisfaction too. You can get the liquid with or without nicotine, and it comes in many flavors so is actually more enjoyable than smoking. There are fruit, menthol, coffee, candy, rum, brandy, whiskey, custom, and even tobacco flavors, and many others (I'm using a peach flavor now). The vapor will not stink up the place like burning tobacco does, and the vapor disappears without a trace after exhaling, and has little-to-no smell, even undetectable by non-smokers. I have used mine in many places that don't allow smoking with no complaints at all, even non smokers don't mind, they can't even smell anything when I use it. I recommend the vaporizer to everyone that I know that smokes, and of those that have tried it, nearly all have quit smoking immediately and permanently.

The health benefits of using a vaporizer over smoking are tremendous. Within three weeks of using the vaporizer, I began to be able to breathe better, no more dry coughing or being out of breath from simply brushing my hair, and I could smell the smokers for the first time ever, and my sense of taste improved. The vapor even seems to have cleaned my lungs, which now produce a clear mucous like normal, instead of the nasty....well, you know, gross stuff from smoking. And, yes, there are vaporizers for other substances too, so if you smoke anything, switching to a vaporizer is much better/healthier/tastier than smoking.

The cost of vaping is much less than cigarettes also. For cigarettes I spent about $150/month, about a pack/day. The vaporizer costs about $60 or less a month to operate, not counting the initial investment for the kit. I bought a higher-end kit with two complete vaporizer sets with extended life batteries and charger and sample liquid, everything needed to get started, for $80. The batteries in the kit that I got will work all day before needing a recharge, and last for several dozen recharges. Regular similar complete kits with shorter life batteries are as low as $30.

Just wondered if others here have used vaporizers, as an alternative to smoking, or even to help quit smoking. The store that I deal with is one of the few, if not only, walk-in stores around here that has a huge variety of brands and accessories, and very knowledgeable people to deal with. Definitely worth a look if you are a cigarette smoker. :)

My cousin decided to quit smoking while his girlfriend was carrying their firstborn (named Elvis 8) ) and started to use vaporizer, and he likes it.

I saw these at makeshift stall in one of our shopping centres. The girl at the stall gave me one to try and I was mightily impressed although the whole battery with water vapour in your mouth thing kind of stressed me out a bit.........
It did feel like I was smoking though so I took her leaflet and checked out the website. I can't remember if it was the same company but the website was full of spelling mistakes and broken links so I decided to leave it in case it was some dodgy company.

You really reckon they work though? :?:
Think I will go check it out again........many thanks shimmiliou

Yeah, most of this stuff is from China (I think) and their websites are hard to understand and lack info, better to deal with a distributor with a walk-in store that speaks English well and can answer questions quickly and easily. Don't worry about the battery, it's only a few volts and no danger of shock. No reported instances of anyone getting hurt or even getting a tingle, perfectly safe, and yes very effective. Forgot to mention that I picked the "Joye eGo" kit and couldn't be happier.

If you try Chantix, and you start having realistic strange and disturbing dreams with thoughts of suicide.... call your doctor. He will give you more!

Anyone who thinks the cost of refills for a vape is expensive should price out surgery and therapy for throat cancer.

So the other day I read the OP and I thought about it a little bit. I've been smoking for a long time. My lungs feel like they've taken a beating some mornings. It's had me worried about my smoking lately.

This morning at the corner 7-11, I noticed that they had some kits behind the counter. All of the sudden I thought, "why not? Let's see what these things are all about." Of course, I still bought a pack of cigarettes along with it. Still a little on the skeptical side.

I'd have to say that so far, I am impressed by the vaporizer cigarettes. It feels like smoking, doesn't taste bad at all. I actually like it better. I didn't want a real cigarette after trying it out. I think this might actually work to get me to stop smoking.

I thought I'd just share that and say thanks to Shimmilou for posting about it. So far, I am impressed. Don't want a cigarette at all.

I hope so. I already ordered a premium kit. I just ordered a Totally Wicked Tornado Tank. Pretty much the same as your Joye eGo. I had no idea, but my uncle recently got one. He's been smoking for over 40-years. He's already been in and out of hospitals for it. I guess it's working for him too. 8)

...been off the ciggies for 4 years. I used Commit lozenges for the first year until the dentist told me my teeth were going to fall out - then switched to sugar free gum. All is well and I feel like a million bucks. :D

I just wanted to point out that the ones they sell at 7-11 ( The X Hale o2) is really a cheap product. Mine already broke earlier today. The atomizer stopped working 1-day after I bought it. It even gave me a shot of the liquid right to the back of my throat. Not a nice taste to say the least. Although they replaced it, I'm anxiously awaiting the better kit.

I wouldn't recommend buying the X Hale. Go a little extra and try maybe a cheaper trial of one of the better manufacturers (ie: Joye) if you want to try it out first. If I were to do things all over again, I would have just bought a premium $80 kit right off the bat.
