i dunno why but i keep falling for discontinued guitars... the cyclone, the firebird studio (when it had good colours and when gibson was worth something), the ibanez talman solidbody, the jackson dk2 dinky in inferno red (was the best guitar in the world to me the first guitar i ever wanted), the olympic white tele deluxe, there is an epiphone wilshire in this green finish that i'd love to have along with her white sister but she's gonna discontinue, even an aria diamond series guitar, there are loads of old strat finishes i'd want to see british racing green, orange, grafitti yellow, sage green... do you guys ever wish you could bring a discontinued guitar back? what guitar?

I prefer 'discontinued' guitars. I don't particularly think discontinued models should be brought back. Once it has been and gone....that's it.

I have had a Gibson L6-S Deluxe and the L6-S, ARia NXG and many other weird and wonderful guitars. It's the uniqueness, rarity and age that adds to these guitars.

Don't get me wrong, some of these can be clangers of instruments but they are nice to look at or just fun to have but I just like being different.

I play the 'unpopular' two knob strat and an early 70s Kay Les Paul. I love them both but many of my friends and contemporaries scoff at them.

I'm like that with motors as well.........I just like them a bit different and I like to have cars/guitars that not many people have(or admit to have) nowadays.

These intruments have a strange way of finding themselves in the vintage hall of fame, commanding some fascinating numbers for enthusiasts of that ilk. If you're not going to play 'em, stick 'em under the bed for 20 years or so you or your next of kin can take advantage of the appreciation.

A new Coronado would be awesome. :D I especially like the ones with the Wildwood finish, but I think that injecting living trees with dye might be a little too politically incorrect.

the ibanez talman solidbody,

I like these. I would love to have one. My buddy had one, nice guitar. He pawned it.
My buddy had a 2001 natural finish MIA Strat, nice guitar, he pawned it.
He also had a nice Yamaha 12 string, he pawned it.

I myself would like to get my hands on a Katana, Squier or Fender. I'm not a metal head either.

HI TGS I doubt if the PC crowd would have a leg to stand on for protesting injecting dye into a tree that's destined to be cut down anyway.I do agree that the Wildwoods were absolutely beautiful guitars.

True. That would make sense, wouldn't it? I don't know why I didn't think of that.

Still, I wouldn't bank on any new wildwoods in the near future. If nothing else, because it probably would be cost prohibative in a time were more people are buying cheaper guitars or turning to the used market.
