One thing that always inspires me is to go listen to an amazing guitar player...in person.
It will do one of two things, make you put it up because you feel you will never be as good,or it will inspire you to become the best player you can be.

Each and every person need practice to reach at his goal in life.I am not saying that without practice he can not reach at his goal but there is a tale that practice makes the man perfect so by practice any person who want to get something good in life can be get mastery on what he done.So do practice always on your work.

I empathize with you Danny. I know the old doldrums can be frustrating. I find now that "practice" is a long ago idea that has been surpassed by meditating (no not that navel gazing type of meditation) what I mean is clearing my mind of everything I know about "theory" and just playing...being in the now or the moment. First thing I realize is that I LOVE playing, making sounds, trying to figure out where I've heard that little riff before. When those grey daze occur I try different tunings and if I'm really having a hard time getting off I put on some music like Kind of Blue by Miles or anything that has NO Guitar on it and try playing along. In the end if all else fails I'll put the guitar down for a day or so and play my mandolin or dobro. (I can't seem to go longer than a day or so without at least picking up a guitar even for a few minutes.....anyway I ramble, hope you navigate to more interesting waters
