Alwaystrat = Angelo.

Seemed a lot like his passive/aggressive style to me.
But yeah, no Van Halen imprint and it didn't happen to a American Standard.
I still have nightmares about trying to deal with the guy. I genuinely tried to be on his side, swing him round a bit to see that not every differing opinion meant that the other person hated you. And in the process ended up losing my temper.
A very trying time.

Anyways I'm thinking of getting a highway1 and putting a carved top on it. Off to ebay to see if any of those smaller headstock ones are around.

I bought one six years ago, an amber HSS one, just to use as a workhorse. I love the big headstocks. It tricked an audience member into thinking it was a hot rodded '70s Strat. Well, it was hanging out with such Strats.

Niki, you probably already know this but the ones with the large headstock also have jumbo frets whereas the ones with the small headstock have medium jumbo frets. Personally, I prefer jumbo frets but my Highway One is one with the smaller headstock and smaller frets. I had to get a fret level on it immediately since they were worn pretty badly and probably never got any attention from a tech before. I still like the guitar, and I'm liking it more and more the longer I have it, but I still wish I had those jumbo frets on there.

Tex, I didn't know that. But on the other hand fret size doesn't really matter as far as I'm concerned. The smaller and nearer the fretboard the better. Though I like big ones too. Theres way too much emphasis put on that stuff for my liking. If it plays right, it is right. As long as the frets are even height and nicely rounded, I won't mind. :D I've never considered such things when buying a guitar.

O.O ok, how did you convince em about the 22nd fret?

A Rush T-Shirt??? The typeface (font) is completely wrong!
So as I’m looking thru the remarks, I glance down at the T-shirt that I have on, one I have not had on in months! A Disney “Grumpy” T. I’ll be dammmmed!!! If it ant the same typeface and in the right spot to be on my guitar! I just about wet myself laughing!!! Everything lines up so… lol!
