Hey guys, so at Guitar Center today they had a display of some Dunlop strings out. I didn't even realize Dunlop made strings. Anyway, I went ahead and grabbed a pack and figured I'd take off the 9 - 42 Ernie Ball super slinkies and try the Dunlop strings in 10 - 46. First thing I noticed was how much of a difference there was after using 9s for the last 10 years. The 10s beef up the low end a little bit, which is nice when I'm on the bridge pickup. These strings feel pretty good compared to the Ernie Ball strings I was using, but the jury is still out on durability; if they last me longer than a month, which was max for the Ernie Ball's, I'll be happy.

I had been using EB 9's also. I bought a couple of sets of Gibson Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel 10-46 for an SG I had. I got rid of the SG but had some of the strings left. I put a set on my Strat, and I really like them. Great Strings. they last over a month. 8)

I like the 10s so far, but I think 11s would be a little much for my liking.

I bet. I'm still surprised by the difference just switching to the 10s.

I have 10's on all of my guitars...I don't think I will ever go back to 9's. What type of Dunlop strings did you buy? I have never been unhappy with any Dunlop product. Great company.

I've been using D'Addario half steps for forty years now.

Do you mean the 1/2 Rounds? I just ordered my first set online as no one seems to carry them in stock.
