Do you have any bad playing habits?

I tend to move my hand in an outward motion at the bottom of a down stroke instead of playing straight up and down.

I tend to squeeze down with my fretting hand so hard you would think I was holding on for dear life.

I had the neck on my Strat scalloped and have been working on playing with a softer touch.

I have been working on using my pinky more and on getting a lighter touch.

i also have the habit of not knowing where my root notes are to scales... not so much a playing habit, but i've been trying a lot lately and just going through the circle of fifths and playing scales and identifying root notes of the sequences all over the fretboard

really helps to know that, so learning it is a priority to me

I hear myself differently then those around me. In all honesty my biggest issue is time/rhythm. I would have problems carrying it in a bucket sometimes.

i have the same problem sometimes.... i'll record jams every once in aa while and listen to them for riffs that were interesting, timing mistakes, notes out of key and other things i can do to improve my playing

I hear myself and hear bad playing. Others hear me and say how good I am.

I think most people feel that way about themselves.

 that obviously isn't it

just kidding, that may be it to, but if theres only minor mistakes you generally are the only one who notices them unless they listen to it several times

True. I'm too honest to lie about someone's playing though.
