So, the other day I bought Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs 40th anniversary edition. I got the cheap two cd one as opposed to the full 4 disk super deluxe edition. Weirdly, despite how much I love Clapton I have never bought this album. I must say it more than lived up to the hype. I really am enjoying it a lot. I still have to listen to the second disk the whole way through, but I'm looking forward to it.

Does anyone else have this, or the super deluxe? What are your thoughts on it?

I bought the deluxe edition...love it and to be honest this is the fourth time I have bought this album, cassette, CD, Deluxe edition...can't get enough of this phenominal music by the worlds greatest guitar player :!:

Not a "Filler" song on this recording...just Clapton and the boys cranking thier own version of blues based rock and roll....Have You Ever Loved a Woman is some of the finest blues ever recorded :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Time to go give it another listen :!:

Have You Ever Loved a Woman was the blueprint for my blues playing when I got more into the blues back then,I had heard Freddie King's blues and Clapton and Allman really did a great version of that one.

Got the Layla Deluxe 2-CD and also have been listening to Derek & The Dominos - Live At The Fillmore. Some serious jamming, with only 13 songs on two CDs, but 8-10 minutes long each, some up to 13, 14 and 18 minutes.
