Here’s a thought (mostly directed to struggling Canadian bands, but all other bands may be considered as YMMV).

Looking for an audience? With the Canadian government legalizing Pot this fall, a built in audience is about to explode, and that doesn’t include immigration and tourism.

I don’t indulge except for the music. But, each to their own.

Bands will probably struggle even more with a proliferation of EDM, visual lighting and projection shows. Friends will be with friends, and that may draw some from one genre to another. EDM is what it is and even Vegas has jumped on board. Expect more and not less of the same.

I have a feeling all is not lost though, and depending on your location it can be some in, none in, or all in. There’s a good chance that new and old school head music will have a calling, and you might want to get in on it early. You also want to keep an ear open for what the industry has in store, because they will likely cash in too. Nothing saying old school can’t be original. Participation may pay off while there are still some 60s/70s fans.
I’ll leave you with a successful Canadian Psych group that got it right (albeit commercial) over 50 years ago.

I’d also pick up one of those Sitar thongamabobs before they leave the shelves.

That's an interesting thought, FSB. Down here in 'murica it won't happen, though. What's left of the record industry only wants the cash cows of pop, rap, and new country. This kind of music will stay in the underground. Unless it really catches on up there and crosses the border - that would be great.

I also liked the vids. The Paupers certainly had some impressive vocal harmonizing on those vocal melodies. They reminded me a bit of the Byrds. The Shiva demo was cute, too.

Here's a little psych revival from 1994.

Destroy All Astromen. Good album spacewolf. Thanks, for adding it. Glad you liked the Paupers.

As for my guesses with the head music, no-one can predict that for sure ; but, I suspect it will be a current or new form that leads the way where there’s room for what has come before. I agree on your assessment of the States not pulling the trigger on it, as those psychedelic days of discovery and international vibes, as much as some would desire, cannot be fully reclaimed. The increased sales of acoustics (for a variety of reasons) may find their niche once again in the flower power and protest camp which has faded down but not away.

A large East Indian population where BC Bud is grown could be a musical influence, but Bollywood is alive and well along with EDM.

Whatever the case, the direction of future music will be interesting, and as culture changes so will the tunes. Talk of Jazz and Blues being lost in the shuffle has struck us before, and yet they survived often with foreign help. Crossover definitely helps. Sometimes, the question arises of whether the culture preceded the music or is it the other way around? There are examples of hippy, rap, and hip hop music spreading a culture where none existed before. The raw form and it’s authenticity is often copied and commercialized, So just how real and related is the mass produced product? Does it even matter? Maybe, we’ll see psychedelic rock with rap. I’m not so sure it doesn’t exist now. :P
Cheers!

Sleep's epic one-hour, one-song cult masterpiece - good choice, Rollie.

And now ladies and germs, from the psychedelic revival movement of 1985, please give a big hand for...

... The Fuzztones!

Modern American heavy psych/doom.

The rest of the album is great too.

Heads up dudes. This has been quite the trip and I'm coming in for a soft landing with my magic carpet. Some remember 2 minutes being the average tune length, then 2:30, 3:30, then 5:00, later 10-15 minutes, and then a whole LP side 25- 30 minutes. Now an hour is common place. If it's good, and these were, then there is the chance for blissful enlightenment. If it's not good, it's like a bad trip. Lots of blissful enlightenment here. :D
I have nothing more to offer this time because I've had a good shot of spacey motivation, which I've always been fond of, and Sleep rip-van-sandman is calling so that I can check the space between my ears which will soon lay on my pillow for the night. Who knows? Maybe, I'll have magic carpet dreams in some far off land. Thanks, for the vibes, SBLS and spacewolf.

Later,
FSB

Cool video with the Stones. One can always do with more Sleep, SBLS. I chuckled at the drummer in this video during his break. It looked like he was forcing himself not to doze off, and then suddenly he woke up and came alive again with awesome new energy and a great beat. Looks good though.

I can dig some of most any music. Yep. That includes EDM, psychedelic or otherwise. But, is it as c00l as this? Nope! But, hey we’re taking about one of if not the best vocal group ever IMHO.

Another really good one, FSB. Thank you.
You probably already know this but Vincebus Eruptum translates to Blue Cheer in English. I'm trying to show off so taking Latin for two years wasn't a complete waste.
