It's certainly coming back in different forms. For instance, fused with garage rock (eg; Thee oh sees), or in a dreamy space pop form (eg; Tame impala, Pond)

Besides, psychedelia for me and a lot of other people is a very broad and subjective genre. For me, it's realistically any sort of music that reminds me, or "feels" like I do when I'm stoned, drunk, or dreaming.
Like I say this is a brilliantly composed piece that I throw under the category of psychedelia. While others might say it's just dance music.

Adding onto that actually, I think there would be a fair share of dudes here that hold the opinion that psych music 'must be guitar based'. Cause hey, this is a guitar forum after all!

Does this make the cut for psychedelia to you?

It certainly does for me. Aside from being my favourite song I've come across in my life, it was made about 5 years ago. The melody and the chord progression blend that throws me in this hypnotic trance and the drums infuriatingly fuel it.
So is psychadelic music coming back? Well, it's really up to the listener to decide.

I've known them for quite some time now. Seen them once and hopefully will be seeing them again later this year.
They're arguably the biggest band in Australia right now especially with their latest release.

+1, I like them, and they are definitely psychedelic in my book.

Tame Impala has a new album out, Currents. I like it well enough, but I like it less than the first two. Almost no guitars this time.

Unlike most people, I thought Inner Speaker , their first album, was better than the follow-up, Lonerism.

Each album has a developing sound. Personally I really like the new album, and honestly I don't think I can pick a favourite of the 3. Innerspeaker does have my favourite song on there. But it's just too hard.
I think they're all solid albums

It is hard for me to pin down as well. My favorite band is Pink Floyd, they are tagged in the psylodelic genre, but after Dark Side of The Moon I feel they outgrew that label. In this decade I think music like Trance really fits the term and I cant really make the connection between Floyd and Armin van Buuren. Its really hard to categorize art . However I found this description amusing .
" A number of features are often included in psychedelic music. Exotic instrumentation, with a particular fondness for the sitar and tabla are common.[2] Songs often have more complex song structures, key and time signature changes, modal melodies and drones than contemporary pop music.[3] Surreal, whimsical, esoterically or literary-inspired, lyrics are often used.[4][5] There is often a strong emphasis on extended instrumental solos or jams, typically featuring a heavily distorted electric guitar as the main instrument.[3] Electric guitars are used to create feedback, and are played through wah wah and fuzzbox effect pedals.[6] There is a strong keyboard presence, in the 1960s this especially using electronic organs, harpsichords, or the Mellotron, an early tape-driven 'sampler' keyboard.[7] Elaborate studio effects are often used, such as backwards tapes, panning, phasing, long delay loops, and extreme reverb.[8] In the 1960s there was a use of primitive electronic instruments such as early synthesizers and the theremin.[9][10] Later forms of electronic psychedelia also employed repetitive computer-generated beats.[11]"

P.S. That Tame impala is cool, havent heard anything like it. Its a bit like School of Fish

Kevin Parker has said in interviews that he doesn't want to be "put in a box", that is, categorized and confined to a specific genre. It was a surprise to me that he was quoted as saying he realizes there is a neo-Psychedelic movement underway, but he doesn't consider himself part of it.

With Currents he seems to be veering toward trippy versions of the sugary pop songs he loves. From my point of view it's a shame. I love Innerspeaker and wish he'd make more music like that. Still, I'm sure he will gain more fans than he loses with the new album.

There's so much to choose from in psychedelic music. Here's some:

Me thinks it's a little bluesy at times.
