Just bought a Nashville Deluxe Tele, made in Mexico. I would like to change out the bridge or saddles. Any ideas about what's best what saddles will fit, thanks

Hi Mike, welcome to the Forum. Just noticed that your post has gone unanswered so I'll bump it and set the ball rolling.

I'm absolutely not out to be difficult, but what are you aiming to achieve by swapping the bridge and/or saddles? Something to do with tone, or intonation, or what? Is there anything wrong with what you have on there already?

I notice that both the Deluxe Nashville and Deluxe Nashville Power Tele have individual saddles, so as far as intonation is concerned you have already bypassed the problems associated with the traditional barrel type saddles. I don't really see the point in swapping them, but if you feel you must for some reason or other then I guess that if you have the Deluxe Nashville you could swap in steel block saddles. Tell me why?

If you have the Nashville Power Tele leave well alone: those saddles are there for the piezo system.

Far as the bridge plate is concerned: there is a whole bunch of voodoo talked about the metal Tele bridges are made from. Supposing you have the Nashville Power model - again, don't touch it, because of the piezo. If you have the non-power model: well I guess there are swaps you could do. I don't know the Nashville well enough to be sure what the plate you have there is made from. Some after-market makers talk about how vital it is for a Tele bridge to be vintage correct pressed steel. Others highlight the attractions of the "contemporary" style model. You could look at those and see if you believe the hype.

But with all of this stuff the question you've always got to ask yourself is: why?

If you can't come up with a very sensible answer to that question then leave well alone and concentrate on playing that nice new Telecaster. Privately I'd regard that as a better plan.

Any help? - C
