Hee-hee - I always wanted to have a forceful private word or two with the kid who wrote the Windows dialog boxes that say things like YOU HAVE PERFORMED A FATAL ERROR! I nearly died of a heart attack when my very first brand new multi-thousand costing computer told me that, the first day I ever turned it on. I thought; "Fatal - that means death! I have killed my new computer! But how...?"

I was almost in tears - till someone told me; "Don't be silly - switch it off and switch it on again". Phew!

Hey, I think we could be onto an idea for a TV sitcom here...

Cheers - C

Are you talking about your compatibility button in IE? What version of IE are you running?

IE 9.

Ah, I figured. Yes, our IE 9 support is a bit shaky across the board right now -- I'm truthfully very surprised that Microsoft proceeded with releasing that browser as it seem to be quite finicky not just on Fender's sites but on many others out there as well. Anyway, by hitting that compatibility button you're basically making your browser act like it's an "older" version of IE, more or less ... hence the fact that it works better. As Ceri pointed out, once you hit the compatibility button you shouldn't have to hit it again - that's the one thing I'm not following from this.

well i updated just before i last posted to 9. figured that would be the answer, but it wasnt.
when i log on all the topics say under lounge are in blk. if i hit the compatability button
everything is back to red like it was a week ago and since i first started here a yr ago.
thing is, i hit the botton, then it tells me what it does, hit it again then it says windows is now running in campatability mode. honestly, this is the only forum ive ever had to use this on. i figured it might be because of all the little bugs that have been showing up here and there on us lately. :(

Is that you playing? If so - nice!

Mind you, I have no idea how we could listen to a highly compressed YouTube clip playing out through tiny computer speakers and get an idea of what an amp might sound like if we actually sat in a room with it. It bewilders me all the time people devote to putting videos of amps, guitars and pedals on YouTube and then others treat those clips as a shop demo booth and make their choices on that basis.

We gotta hear this stuff in the flesh to know what it does.

I have played through Pignose amps and I haven't a word to say against them. Never found a need to buy one, but they're nice for sure.

Regarding the IE browser problem: although it's your girlfriend's computer presumably you could put your own browser on there too? Chrome or Firefox or whatever? She might like that cos then you'd have "his & hers" browsers - that's what my Missus and I do. And that would solve these glitch issues for you at a stroke.

Just a thought.

Good luck - C

ceri

i use youtube to get a basic idea. thats about all your gonna get from youtube.
i mainly listen to the reviews. no you cant get the true sound on youtube, but, you can get a basic idea if its something your interested in though, just by hearing what others are saying about it.
