Has anyone played any of the new American Standard series? What did you like? What didn't you like? I'm thinking of getting the new AS J-Bass, but I'm stuck with a bum leg for now. Lemme know what you think.

Yeah, I like that the J has the S-1, but I'm not sure how good this new HMV bridge is going to be. I just put the Badass on my other J, and I don't want to have to replace a bridge that they just came up with. So i hope its really comparable. Only time will tell

I love that the Geddy Lee J came with the Badass.

i've heard from a few people that the bridge is nice, although it doesn't make an extreme difference, but i really couldn't tell you until i play one for myself

I have high hopes for this guitar. I just bought an amazing amp, so I am kind of glad that it doesn't have an EQ. Its just 2 volumes and a tone, so it is a really simple setup. I hope that GC has plenty of them, I want to try one out before they are all gone. I just wish they weren't so pricey. I'm sure ill tear this one up, just like I do with every guitar I have ever owned, that's half the fun!

I just bought the new American Standard and its awesome. I have 2 vintage guitars, a 63 Gretsch and a `69 Les Paul and neither one of them play or sound like the Strat.

Still waiting to check out the new 5 string P-Bass. I could only imagine that Fender has 'nailed' it. Finally, a standard, passive P-Bass! :D

I wish, Fender would go back to the three single coil rout on the Standards. From the 80's to the 90's when they went to the large rectangle rout to allow 3 humbuckers to now with the hum-sing-hum route, which they say is more wood for more resonance. Give me the traditional 3 single coil rout.

Thanks MargaretP, if I told you I sold most of my fishing rods and reels I didn`t use anymore on craigslist and bought the Strat with the cash would you believe it ? Look around your house and see what you don`t use anymore. You`d be surprised how fast things sell on that site. You may be able to put the money to good use and you`ll own your own Strat soon.
