Looking at your picture, your frets need leveling rather than a grind and polish. Reason being the dent under the G string on the first fret.
That first fret governs the height of all the frets. It's usually marginaly higher than the rest of the frets.
So what needs to happen now is that the first fret needs to be ground down to chase that ding out. Then the rest of the frets leveled to that height. Regardless of the condition of the other frets.

What you need to also do is look at what is causing such wear. Make sure them strings are wiped down after playing. Sweat and skin oil is murder on frets.

I guess there's some differences in opinion and definitions here: I've never heard of where the first fret is presumed to be higher where all others are to be subordinate; a grind and polish includes leveling and crowning as required; all frets should be even in height and width but again, not all evolving around the first fret as the master; the wear seems to be simply from where he favors playing the most.

I'm bad, and hardly ever wipe my guitar down. I sometimes used the same strings for months too. They are bad habits and I am trying to take better care of my guitars. I don't beat them up, just don't pay attention to the smaller things. As you can see, I do alot of bending on the G string . I favor playing in A and E pentatonics, hence the wear.

What is the difference between a leveling and a G & P?

The first fret can (not needs) sit slightly higher than the other frets. Reason being that it won't cause fretbuzz anywhere further up the board. If you don't have to take as much off you potentialy prolong the life of the fret. Kind of a reverse of upper fret drop off.
The difference being marginal. Maybe half a high E strings worth.

Grind and polish to my mind has more to do with crowning and leaving the frets in a good playable condition. Leveling being more getting all the frets uniform height to the fretboard.
