Lucky you Bill! I'm just a few hundred miles away and was thinking of coming down later this year to Nashville. Vinni (V-Picks) is in the middle of moving there and I would love to see him, and, see in person how he makes those wonderful V-Picks.

I hear Beale Street calling. Bill, you'll never run out of inspiration in Memphis. What a blues mecca. Good luck with the transition. ..........Mike

Bill-You lucky dog-moving to one of my favourite spots on dear old Mother Earth. Memphis is worth moving to just for the sake of Beale St. and ribs from the Rendezvous that's not to mention Graceland and the Peabody.Lots of luck on your move and I hope that you find some forum members to jam with and show you around.

Funny...I was just looking at some info on visiting Memphis!

One of those "bucket list" items. Not sure when but I will be going down there!

Yup, Beale St and Graceland and "ribs" are on the list. Plus just to look at the big old Muddy like so many others have done. Was thinking of spending 3-4 days there but I have a lot of research to do to see what's down there. And also convincing "She-who-must-be-obeyed" that it's worth the trip!

Have fun Bill! Just might be picking your brain in a few months!

Anymore dangerous than any other city, RS?
Are you talking particular sections of Memphis or the city as a whole?
Or particular times of day?

I know nothing of Memphis and would be grateful of places to shy away from.

OK, that I understand...thanks.

Wasn't sure if Beale St was a place to only visit during the day light?? Would be kinda of crappy since musicians only come out at night.

Exactly....I have a friend who has been everywhere as a musician, and I left him at Mud Island to get on a riverboat that he plays music on sometimes and he warned me of that since I don't know Memphis very well....and was by myself.
It can be the same way here in Nashville with the country music fans.
I usually find my way to the worst side of a city I'm unfamiliar with...everytime.
