I don't see what's so bad about doing it. I'll be signing HaleAmano up for it. Win or not, it's another outlet for people to check out your music. I personally think our drummer is as good a Travis Barker anyway. You might see the name Blink 182 and say whatever, but he can really play. That dude is no joke.

Studio time, band exposure, $10,000 shopping spree, guest appearance by a famous musician? Sounds good to me. Why not give it a shot? What's there to lose? HaleAmano won a battle of the bands that consisted of 88-bands last year, so I guess you never really know. We were the only reggae band in the competition.

My money is on HaleAmano Shredd! I will vote for you just post the link after you Bros enter. My old band entered a couple of those in 2009. We unfortunately didn't win but did gain some new fans and friends that we would not have met if we didn't enter the competition.

Working on it right now SBLS. Thanks for your support man. I was able to enter Jah Soldier into the competition. Not sure if only 1 song is eligible, but any time I try to enter another it says the competition is full. So I got Jah Soldier in just in time it would seem.

Outside of the competition, it looks like a good website regardless. Nice setup they have.

To tell you the truth, the website itself is nice!! It automatically links up to the information on the other sites. The calendar is pulled from another site, when you play a song, it has a ticker that reads the Twitter tweets (never thought I'd say those two words in my lifetime). It's easy to navigate through. Nice EPK setup. It really is a nice site. Thanks for posting it. Competition or not, I like the Ourstage website. We're linked up to a lot of them. I think it's as cool as Reverb Nation. Less cluttered.

The Travis Barker thing? Yea, I'm not going to put a whole lotta energy into it. Just by signing up we're in 2,500th place. So seriously.. Meh. I'm sure a good alternative or hard rock band will come out on top.

What I find interesting is the voting process of the website in general. You put up a song, it goes into a song vs. song format with other songs from around the world, and people vote on them. You go against different songs each time, and the website calculates how many 1st-2nd-3rd-4th votes the songs get, and puts them in order at the end of a month. Pretty cool to see where your song stands and how it's received.

It's a pretty good tool to use to see what audiences respond to. For example, Jah Soldier wasn't doing so good in the alternative category, but Recession is better received by alternative fans. Jah Soldier is doing better in the World/reggae category where Recession might not do as good due to the rock influence in it.

That stuff is good to know for in the future. At some point we'd like to bust something into that Alternative market a little for some more exposure.
