would be interesting to see if other countries have issues like this in their school systems.

I wonder what is going through a police mans head when situation like these come up, because this is not the first time this happens in the states. There was this 6 year old girl who got tazed rather than mazed couple a years ago.

But really how much of a threat has a 6-8 year old be so that a police officer can justify using a weapon on them?

I fully agree with your point GL.

We see kids who's parents just have no control, they've never bought the kids up right. We just don't know the full story, you can't believe some news story. It's going to be skewed one way or the other.

The police in the UK are all too eager to use the stuff. And give you a kicking in the cells when they've nicked you. Just as your eyes and nose start to clear. A friend of mine was attacked, had his ear bitten off. Whilst waiting for the ambulance a mobile ticket machine appeared (thats all the police in the UK are). Started asking him questions. My friend was quite het up, understandably. The idiot in uniform decided to spray him, because he swore. Pepper spray has no effect on said friend, so he calmly asked the idiot why he sprayed him. With which the idiot sprayed him again. Friend told idiot, do that again, I'll take it off you and spray you with it. With that the idiot sprayed my friends ex wife.
Thats how it happened I haven't glossed over it. I saw it happen.

Bully boot boys in uniform. I've no respect for them anymore, at all.

The root cause of behaviour like this is parents that were too lenient and permissive from day one and who gave the kid no guidance in self control and what is and isn't acceptable social behaviour.More and more kids these days are being raised without boundries or discipline and by the time parents realize they messed up the kid is too far gone for anything but agressive professional help.If this kid isn't taken to task immediately this won't be the last we hear of him as behaviour of this type will only escalate if allowed to go unchecked.Notice how the mother was so quick to put the blame on the actions of the police and didn't acknowledge that the kid's atrocious behaviour is what initiated the whole incident.

it was the 3rd time out to the school on this kid. the kid plainly stated in his own words he wasted something sharp incase they came out (the teachers in the locked room).
yeah i would have gassed him too. now maybe he will think twice before he acts up again. i mean come on, they cant keep coming out ya know. they have to show him that is what you get for actions like he displayed. mom says hes a straight and narrow kid at home, but then she turns around and says hes been to plenty of doctors to get mentally examined. ok either shes full of crap and he is acting up at home, or she got a 12th doc opinion. one of two things, either the kid is a terror at home to, which i have to believe is the case here, or, something is going on at that school for the police to have been out 3 times on the kid. either way im throwing a red flag on the play here.

In my days (said the 27 year old) the teacher would just crab you by the arm and drag you to the principals office and call child protection services... why child protection services? The same reason why the first words out of the principals mouth would be "Is everything alright at home". In those days both schools officials and child therapists believed it is all the parents fault, which in some cases is true.

I don,t think we should be useing pepper spray or tazers on 8 yr old kids for any reason. Snach the kid up and get him some help.

what if that kid has something in his hand that is dangerous to you as well as himself?
how are you gonna "snatch him up" then?

A lot more parents would be more responsible and take better charge of their kids if they were held liable and could be charged and made to pay for any damage their child caused.
